No Hope for Solo

You're right. Normally I try to merge repetitive threads. But, go ahead and start a separate one. Make sure you include "spoilers" in the title. See. I'm not always an ass.
I wasn’t giving you a hard time. I just knew at some time we would start talking about the movie.

Based only on the trailer, Glover seems to be channeling Williams so much more than the actor that plays Han Solo. But reviews seem to indicate he captures Solo pretty well. But the parts with Glover in the trailer, I totally buy him as a young Billy Dee Williams.

I didn’t like Alden Ehrenreich or however his name is spelled as Han all that much. He wasn’t distracting my bad, but he definitely was not as good as Donald Glover as Lando, Chris Pine as Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock etc...

I loved it, would rank it as 5th best movie in the entire star wars universe. Really fun, the hate for it is completely unwarranted
I would not say I loved it, but I liked it a lot. I think that it is way better than the last Star Wars movie.

He's the main reason I want to see it I've been a fan of his because of Community

He’s fantastic in it, they just need to do a stand-alone Lando sans Han movie and get a new cinematographer as Solo was a VERY ugly filmed movie compared to the other Star Wars movies with super washed out muted colors and bad lighting so that half of each shot was hidden in shadows.

Also unrelated to my opinion of him as an actor (as I’m fine with the acting of ahats like Tom Cruise, Mel Gibson, Christian Bale, etc despite their personality and beliefs), he’s a really nice guy. I met him probably five years or so ago after he was already on Community when I was in LA. We parked in the same parking garage and walked across the street about a block and a half from the main “downtown” Hollywood Katsuya (a sushi place with multiple LA locations that’s usually littered with celebrities). We ended up stuck at a crosswalk and he started up a convo with me not vice versa as we waited and walked over. He was a pretty chill and laid back guy in person and very friendly. Unlike the guys in the booth table behind me when we were at the restaurant (Harvey Me Too Weinstein and Michael Bay with two ridiculously young starlets on their arms including one that could barely speak English).

So there’s been so many complaints about the dark, washed out and lifeless cinematography used in Solo that the studio is starting to lay excuses.

Apparently it’s not the fault %*%*y cinematographer but the theaters “not being up to standard”. Except amazingly enough, that’s never a problem for 95+% of the other movie’s.

There are plenty of pics of her al over the internet. All of her!!!!

I think that is because he was not truly Han Solo until the very last scene in movie, where he nailed it. He was an amateur. I think that is why some don’t like the performance but I personally think it was perfect.

Saw it today in Dolby Cinema. Enjoyed it. The actor that played Han got better as the movie rolled on.
Ron Howard could only do so much I guess.
Seeing that it did so poorly in the box office, doubt we will see a sequel which leaves some questions to the cliffhanger.

Any what Han's real last name?

I saw it this weekend and really enjoyed it. It didn't have the massive universe and weight of a normal star wars movie as they weren't "Saving the Universe", but I think that made me enjoy it more. It was just fun dancing around in that world away from Jedi mindgames. And I totally bought him as Han after about 15 minutes. Overall very well done.
