Florida State defensive end Josh Sweat, who will be a junior next season, spoke at great length Monday about how 2017 could be a big year for his position.

The Seminoles lost senior DeMarcus Walker, who led the team with 16 sacks last season, to the NFL Draft. Walker's departure now leaves Sweat as the team's most experienced defensive end.

Sweat said he's taking more of a leadership role on the team and hopes FSU's younger defensive ends understand what's at stake.
