Pancreatitis sucks.....

Had what I thought was back pain during Christmas weekend, leading to me laying on the floor last Wednesday night in our bedroom balled up in pain after it moved to my stomach...ER visit and hospital stay last Thursday with a diagnosis of acute viral pancreatitis. basically nothing but liquids since mixed in with hydromorphine...

Wouldn't wish this upon my worst enemy...on a positive note got a headstart on the New Years diet (down 17 pounds)

Pancreatitis kind of just killed my mom. Technically it was septic shock from her pancreas being eaten by flesh eating bacteria that the surgeons missed upon initial diagnosis.

She woke up in severe pain and went to the ER. She was diagnosed with pancreatitis and gall stones. They removed her gall bladder and released her the next day. 3 weeks later she died. They tried to remove her pancreas as it was completely dead but she didn’t survive the surgery.

I guess my point is make sure you are at a good hospital and they are being thorough.
