Ok...so I'm not one that generally second guesses the coaches. Mainly because I am forming an opinion based on maybe 5% of the information and 1% of the experience that the coaches have. That said...
With regards to the passive defense strategy. I hope our coaches understand that when FSU comes to town it is the Super Bowl for the opposing team. Especially the ACC teams we play. We are the biggest game they play all year by a wide margin. Those players and coaches are amped beyond belief. An opposing ACC coach can secure his job for years to come with a single win over Florida State. The opposing players are playing on national TV for what may be only a couple of times all year. Point being, we have to come out guns blazing with full aggression every week. Put our superior athletes in a position to do what we recruited them to do and that is make big plays. Maybe it backfires on us one out of 10/15 times but so what. I think big plays leads to confidence and more big plays (SWAG). Remember the Bowden glory years when you could all but count on 1 to 2 defensive and special teams scores a game? That gave the players confidence and also gave the offense some cushion to play loose which generally lead to more big plays.
