PGSF FedEx Cup Week 14 The Masters

I've been following golf relatively closely for at least 35 years now. I can't recall having this many great very young (early-to-mid 20's) players as we do now. (Spieth, Thomas, Rahm, Pieters, Matsuyama, etc.) The game looks like it's in great hands going forward.
The talent is definitely there. What's missing is a strong personalty that the casual golf fan can get behind.

I agree with you to an extent, but Nicklaus himself was said to lack that strong personality early in his career...But over time, of course, all golf fans (casual or rabid, like us :D) came to love and revere him.

Sergio did not like his second shot on number five at all. He course cans the long birdie putt. Bet he does't mind that second shot at all now.

It will be interesting to see how Spieth plays as the hunter instead of the hunted.

Without that quad on fifteen, he is leading this thing and would once again be the hunted. Even a bogey on that hole and he is leading. I still think that hole in round one will come back to bite him.

saw this in an espn article this am

Ty Wenger: Jordan Spieth. Let's play "Fun With Hypotheticals." Replace the two quadruple-bogeys Spieth carded in the past two Masters with pars and he would now be in possession of a 2-shot lead, heading into the final round, in search of his third straight Masters. Which, need I remind you, no one has ever done. Oh, and it's only his fourth Masters ever. This course and this golfer are made for each other. He wears a size 44 jacket -- just sayin

Let's hope we never see a Jordan and Rickie pairing again. That was some ugly golf today from both of them.

The missed birdie on 13, no sand save on 17, and missing that putt on 18 by Rose and several missed putts by Sergio a better putter probably would have made like the one on 18 and here we are in OT.

Putts like Garcia's on 18 are hard enough in a regular tournament. On an Augusta National green where you just tap it and hope you got the line right triple that difficulty.

Justin has gotten a couple fortunate bounces on 18, the approach on 72 and then this one he could have went deep in the pines there but it looks like he may have a shot

or maybe not, that will be a tough shot , does he lay it up

what a shot by Sergio ..not terrible by Justin
Sergio might have two putts to win it, man this turned out to be a good finish, after a ho hum start

Congrats to Sergio. He finally loses that moniker. Great putt on 18 not that he needed it though. But he finished it off in style.

nice birdie on the 73rd for the win

if you woud have told me we would be here after the tee shot on 13 I would have laughed...can not believe he regrouped and made that par and then went on to win, good for him

Another exciting finish to a great tournament . Sergio looked like he might let it get away at the end of the front/start of the back and then 13, but he stayed strong, hit some excellent shots to get his first major

Congratulations to the PGSF's winner of the first major

will post updated leader board shortly

Just really glad to see Sergio finally win his first major....and at the Masters, no less! I was rather irritated by him to be honest earlier in his career when he used to "milk" the grip on his club endlessly before hitting a shot. It was at the TPC a couple of years back I think when I really started to root for the guy when a bunch of drunken goater-fan types were harassing him there in Ponte Vedra, but SG didn't let it get to him and hit one solid shot after another before finishing 2nd. Surge is still a young 37, so hopefully he can pocket a few more majors during his career now that the seal's broken.

By the way, congrats BFT!
