The 19th-ranked Seminoles (20-5, 9-3 ACC) enter their Thursday night rivalry matchup vs. Miami as one of two teams in the ACC to reach 20 overall wins, joining ninth-ranked Duke. In its 72-44 home win last Thursday vs. Wake Forest, FSU became the first ACC team to 20 wins.

Florida State begins the evening in sole possession of third place in the ACC, behind only first-place Duke (10-2) and second-place Notre Dame (9-3). The Seminoles were predicted ninth in the ACC preseason predicted order of finish. Against the current schools in the ACC with a .500 conference record or above, the Seminoles are 4-2 (wins over Duke, North Carolina, Miami and NC State).

Miami is the first repeat opponent for Florida State this season, one of four on the ACC schedule as FSU still wraps up remaining games against two-time opponents Georgia Tech, Wake Forest and Clemson. In the first matchup in Tallahassee on Dec. 21, 2022, sophomore forward Makayla Timpson had a huge performance with 25 points, nine rebounds, four blocks and going 10-of-13 from the floor vs. Miami.

A win over Miami on Thursday would mark FSU’s eighth consecutive season winning 10 or more games in ACC play. The streak does not reflect the COVID-19 shortened 2020-21 season when the full league schedule was not played.

Freshman guard Ta’Niya Latson has scored in double figures in 24 of her 25 games this year. She had an incredible streak of 14 consecutive 20-point games earlier in the season and also owns six 30-point games - an FSU single-season record.

The Seminoles enter Thursday’s road game rated 13th in the latest NCAA NET Rankings.

Noles started out cold but have starting hitting some shots. Need to do a better job on the glass tho.

Latson picked up her 2nd foul with 9 mins to go in the 2nd quarter.

Bejedi just score 7 points to give us a 10 point lead. If we can rebound, we can really take control of this game.

I'm at softball and following on stat broadcast. Good to see Bejedi bounce back tonight with a good performance early

11 point lead at the half. I was nervous when Latson picked up her 2nd foul but Bejedi got out in transition while Myers/Timpson have been dominant in the paint.

By far the best game we have seen from Massengil in a long time.

Noles settling for threes and Miami goes on a 6-0 run to start the 2nd half

Wyckoff protested a terrible call on Bejedi, got T’s up which resulted in 2fts and Miami hit a 3 off another O board. Tie game.

I was glad to see Brooke show some emotion but that technical was the turning point of the game. We were up five at that point then Miami tied it up after hitting the FTs and the 3pt bucket off an o board. Not the reason we lost but that sequence definitely game UM momentum which they controlled the rest of the way.

Miami isnt that big of a team where we should be getting out rebounded by 20. FSU is the best FT shooting team in the ACC but shot 50% tonight (10-20). Bejedi was 4-10.

While this isn’t a bad loss, we had a chance to compete for a top 2 finish in the conference and create more separation but now we our tied up with UM,VT,Louisville, UNC fight for a top 4 finish.

Puts more pressure on a win Sunday. We have a fairly easy schedule(compared to the teams above us) to finish the season.
