Florida State (12-5, 3-3 ACC) plays host to Georgia Tech (8-10, 2-5) on Saturday at noon. The game will be televised on ESPNU.

The Seminoles are coming off their biggest win of the 2024-25 season, knocking off Pittsburgh on Wednesday. FSU is 3-1 in January.

The Yellow Jackets have lost three straight games - Clemson, at SMU and at Syracuse.

FSU has won six straight home games in the series vs. GT, a streak that dates to Feb. 2018.

The Seminoles won a recruiting battle with the Yellow Jackets for Daquan Davis. FSU's freshman point guard is averaging 9 points and leads the team with 47 assists. But in FSU's four January games, he's averaging 11.3 points with 4.5 assists and 1.8 steals. That includes some struggles at Clemson, but he's been logging heavy minutes and played well this month.

Can Malique Ewin make it a fourth straight double-double vs. Georgia Tech? Ewin is coming off a Pitt game where he scored 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. He also had three blocks.

Remember when Jamir Watkins was struggling from the free-throw line? Feels like a long time ago. He's now made 114 shots from the line, which leads the ACC. He is shooting 76 percent from the line this season but 85.7 percent (42 of 49) in FSU's six ACC games.

FSU leads the ACC by making 17.7 free throws per game. The Seminoles are comfortably ahead among ACC teams in blocks (91) and steals (151).

GT forward Baye Ndongo is 6-foot-9, 240 pounds. He had a double-double (14 points, 12 rebounds) in the 70-59 loss to Clemson earlier this week. Guard Naithan George has scored in double figures in five straight games and has had 10 assists in two of those games.

KenPom projects a 10-point FSU win over GT. As we've discussed in prior threads on the board, FSU's next six games are winnable although that includes games at Cal, Stanford and Boston College. The Seminoles haven't fared well in true road games, losing at LSU, NC State and Clemson with a win over Miami.
