After watching Patrick in the spring game, I think we are going to be able to bully many ACC teams around with him, as long as Francois is having a decent year. In between the tackles against the Crimson Tide, I feel like we will see Leonard Fournette 2.0 in that game. As we all know it is almost impossible to run in between the tackles against Alabama, but I think Patrick will have a huge key in this game. He might only run for 35-50 yards on 12-15 carries, but I think that number can win us the game. Those runs will keep the inside linebackers of Bama respecting our inside run game, and create explosive plays for Akers and Green. I think combined Akers/Green can combine for 16 carries for 125+ yards, and the plays broken down below are the two that will help them get here.

GH Left Rules (2 BackSet)

**With Dalvin Cook we usually ran it with one back, but seems we have put in a wrinkle with two backs. Usually the guard (Minshew) kicks the end, but the FB takes that responsibility with a two back set**

LT: Block down on the three technique
LG: Double the backside shade to the backside backer
C: Double the backside shade to the backside backer
RG: Pull and block the first color that shows
RT: Step and hinge protecting the B Gap, letting no run downs happen
H Back: Pull and block the first color that shows
FB: Kick out the Playside Defensive End

The play success was 5 yards, you saw Dalvin Cook many times take this to the house. Green/Akers are the ones who will have a lot more success running this play.

Buck RT Sweep Rules

*If there is a backside one the backside guard pulls, and the center stays. In this play there is no backside 1 technique so the center is the one to stay.

The play resulted in for six yards, I do not recall running the Buck often if at all last year. I really liked the fact our center was athletic enough to get around there. Vickers also does a great job being patient, and running physical.

Last Play: FB Dive HB Pitch

This play is caused by the influence of the fullback. Most coaches at every level will have your linebackers reading the first step of the guards, and a speedy running back can make defenders pay dearly with a bad read. Watch the influence of the guards cause the whole front seven to shift the wrong way. The key to this play is having receivers that can block, which Coach Dawsey does great at this.

PS: Our TE's are going to be so crucial in this game as well, they will cause the biggest matchup problems.
