Going to be passing through Nawlins on a Monday in December and turns out there is a MNF game that night.
Booked a room at the Bourbon Orleans for $180, is that a decent place to stay for that price? Will be there all day so will be hanging out in the Quarter, but also wanted to be walking distance to the stadium if possible.

You are a pretty good hike from the Superdome n/k/a Mercedes Bens Stadium....but there are cabs everywhere in the Quarter. I have never staid at that hotel, but looks very nice. However, I'm just too old these days to stay directly on Bourbon.

Bourbon Orleans used to be our go to hotel, last couple times, have been put off By their cleanliness, but for one night, the location doesn't get better for nightlife but yeah, you are a good little hole from the super dome, just grab a cab and you'll be good.

I've only stayed at the Bourbon once. It was ok, nothing truly special. Other than the ghosts. I remember something like 4 different alleged ghosts are supposed to be there so sweet dreams!!!

To be honest, I don't remember much about it other than the food and bar in the restaurant was absolutely awful. I stayed there courtesy of one of those....mind freeze...Internet travel dealies I've forgotten the name...where I got 2 nights stays, four drinks, 2 breakfast buffets, 2 food museum tickets and a 2 tickets to the ww2 museum for about $200. We did that about two years or so ago and...I dont remember much about the hotel so it must be solidly mediocre but the in house food and bar were AWFUL. Even at free, I overpaid. Worst hurricanes I've ever had and the breakfast was just nasty. In a foodie capital like NOLA it was a second degree felony for me to waste stomache space on that criznap.

Any other recommendations for a one night stay? Probably get there in time for lunch and just grab dinner on the way to the game. So top priority would be close to good bars/food then just cab it to the game.
Seems like most places are fairly priced for a Monday night. Of course my last hotel stay was at the MGM for the MayPac fight so my judgement of what is fair may be a little off.

Edit: this is 2-3 guys on the way back from a duck hunting trip so we don't exactly need the Ritz.

If you want to stay in the Quarter, The Omni is nice and it has The Rib Room (prime rib place), we used to stay at the Royal Sonesta on Bourbon which has good restaurants. The W has a place in the Quarter and The large Westin on the river.

Hotel Monteleone is about the same price as the bourbon and is right off of Canal maybe two blocks from Bourbon and has one of NOLAs best bars in the Carousel Bar (the only bar in the world I believe that runs along a carousel track). Even if you don't end up staying there, you should drop in for a house specialty Vieux Carre. It's a nonsugary sweet man drink that is actually pretty smooth in line with a good quality Sazerac which they also make quite well there. It's probably my third favorite "sophisticated cocktail" bar in New Orleans after the Sazerac Bar and Swizzle Stick.

I usually stay at the Roosevelt which has the aforementioned Sazerac Bar which is my favorite upscale cocktail bar in NOLA. But it is about $100 more than Bourbon.

If you want cheaper, the Quality Inn on St Charles just a block behind the Roosevelt is pretty decent and is only $99 tonight according to Kayak. I've stayed there before when with a cheaper group of friends and it's an easy walk to Bourbon (maybe two or three blocks to Canal and three blocks over to Bourbon).

I've stayed at the Quality Inn on O'Keefe for the last 15 years or so which is one block from the Roosevelt. Mr. Stanley has been terrific to work with over the years (Jazz Fest Reservations, relatives and friends coming into town for a wedding, passing through on motorcycle trips). They also have some rooms that have a back bedroom separated by a wall/bathroom to the front bedroom.

1 block from the Roosevelt. Easy walk to Dominica, Deanie's in the Quarter, Mr B's, etc. To be honest it's an easy walk to Cafe Du Monde/Jackson Square.
