Hey,
Have 5-6 days free in Nov, looking to take the lady as a surprise to this area that she’s always wanted to go. I know zero about these towns. Looking for some good restaurants and bit of nightlife but more interested in quieter place and easy access to beaches.
Thanks

Not really going to find much "night life" in those locations but if just want a relaxing beach experience you will enjoy the area.

Consider "Tween Waters" on Captiva...has hotel rooms and cottages you can rent. On site restaurant and bar.
South Seas Plantation is a huge resort on the northern tip of Captiva.

Not alot on North Captiva except rental houses. One bar/Restaurant called Barnacles (Used to be called Barnacle Bills)

Consider Boca Grande's Gasparilla Inn.

Just got a great flight booked to Fort Myers so just looking at the hotel recommendations.
Thanks

great...I look forward to hearing where you stay etc

Did the Sanibel trip the last week, weather wasn’t good but that’s not on the location.
We enjoyed the very slow pace, quiet, non traffic lights of the islands.
The biking paths are great, and though that main road from Sanibel to Captiva is boring it was still a nice place to get some exercise.

I underestimated the birding, for me that was a highlight from unusual woodpeckers to oystercatchers to bald eagles competing with ospreys. I could watch Pelicans and Terns fish all day but I’m a nerd.
Also saw a lot of snakes, fwiw, mostly smaller ones.

We saw a pair of dolphins on 2 different days right along the shore fishing, she loved that.

Some great meals and seafood, best meal was pre fixe at Blue Rendezvous. Amazingly authentic French.

Mad Hatter, and Doc Fords were good dinners too. best lunches were Sanibel Cafe(weird combos but they worked), and Grammy Dots at that busy marina.

Did a trip to Fort Myers Beach, we were not fans, total opposite of Sanibel in every way.

overall Sanibel/Captiva is good place to relax, we stayed at the Song of the Sea. It was probably overpriced but I think all that area is, but no complaints.

There is virtually no nightlife on Sanibel, or beer, but if anyone wants to relax, plan meals ahead and be in bed early it’s a nice spot outside tourist season.

Glad you had a nice time. Yeah...it's certainly not a "night life" place that's for sure.

We were amazed how dark it was after sunset. First night we walked to get a drink while sun was still out. Oopsy. Pretty cool they’ve kept it non commercial this long

They do stress to businesses and houses to keep lights off I know so the sea turtles aren't effected.
