In order to get the SEC network up and running, the conference agreed to put all its conference champ games on the conference network (except for football which is on CBS). It had been rumored - admittedly unconfirmed - that the ACC was not going to put its prime BB event on its conference network. We don't know where this will end up for the ACC and its BB tournament with regard to the ACC network in 2019. The SEC is not a great BB conference - has not been for years - but it continues to decline. Is the SEC BB product getting reduced exposure because of the conference network? SEC leadership wants to increase the exposure of its BB product, but you have to have the SEC network to watch it. And you need a better product that people want to watch. Coach K doesn't think that CBS does a good job with March Madness; I can't imagine him supporting any arrangement with reduces the amount of eyeballs to watch Duke BB.
In any event, ESPN is definitely pumping up the volume about how good ACC BB is.
