Florida State started off the series on the west coast will a bit of a slow start but then scored eight unanswered runs over four innings to pull past and away from the Cal Golden Bears in Game 1. Drew Faurot tied the program record for most consecutive hits with twelve before grounding out on the opportunity to break the record in the ninth inning. Jamie Arnold threw for nine innings and had 9 strikeouts in his sixth win of the season.
