Something we can ALL be pissed about

PDQ is coming to Tally soon. One of the owners is a big FSU guy. Spearit is owned by some of the Outback guys including the owner of PDQ.

i believe they have an offer in on a piece of land. It is amazing food for sure.

One of the owners of the PDQs here in JAx I believe is Tebow, so I don't like to fund establishments where the money may go to the gates.

We had 2 Whataburgers in Orlando both went out of business about 3 or 4 years ago.Wish we could get another one to open up

I live in AZ and I agree with In-N-Out being better. Also we have Fatburger and Freddy's Steakburgers which are also amazing. I do like Whataburger but these other chains are better IMO

Ok I’ll give you In-N-Out, they are great, but their public love factor is already in line with (or exceeds) their awesomeness. And also not geographically convenient for most Americans.
Whataburger’s public love factor hasn’t yet caught up with their awesomeness — they need PR and expansion help almost as bad as FSU football needs to hit the reset button on 2017.

Ah! The age old In-N-Out Burger vs. Whataburger debate. I personally like them both equally, but lets turn up the heat on this debate and discuss who has the best BBQ (Kidding).

none in california... however, we have In-and-Out. Much better

Bigger lies have never been said, then the constant insistence that In-and-Out is good. I’ve had it in San Fran, LA, Phoenix and maybe Vegas over the years because I keep thinking “Maybe I just had a bad experience and it’s really as good as people say”, but no. It’s garbage. And yes, I’m well aware of Animal Style and the secret menu, slathering Thousand Island dressing on things doesn’t automatically make them good.

The only correct answer to decent burgers in Arizona is the Blake’s Lotaburgers in Tucson that came over from New Mexico. Now THAT is a great chain. In-N-Out is garbage.

There's just something about a Whataburger. Are they great quality? Heck no. there are lots of burgers that are way better quality. It's hard to describe. Sometimes a Whataburger is the perfect solution.

Expounding on your reset button comment and incorporating the topic of this thread. Can we buy out coaches contracts using Whataburger gift cards?

I do like Whataburger quite a bit especially their new chorizo burgers. It’s not my favorite burger but other than Steak and Shake and Blake’s Lotaburger it’s probably the best burger you can get from a drive through.

Never understood the love for In-N-Out, I have tried them a couple of times and was underwhelmed both times. That and Whataburger are about the same.

I do wish they had a Whataburger in Atlanta though.

Damn, I added that OLinemen part just to make it football-legit and it still got moved...

Mods HATE Whataburger
Therefore fewer Whataburgers
Plus Mods = No Mellow
Mods ruining our world!

I ate at the Thomasville Whataburger this past Friday night after the football game. I'm trying to eat good, as in healthy, but I was not turning my back at a Whataburger experience. It was good, damn good.

Used to have some in Lakeland, Zephyrhills and the west side of Central Florida. All closed, just in North Florida now. Brakes my heart when I see the vacant piece of land where the one in Zhills used to stand.

Well, there you go
Hope the Mods feel good now
Adios Americana

Ps didn’t a big tree try to take out the one on Thomasville Rd in Midtown this fall?
So maybe it’s the Mods & God, but we shall prevail!

Why aren’t there more Whataburgers around the whole dang country??

Right now there’s a McD’s and Starbucks setting up shop in your grandma’s attic, but still almost no Whataburgers outside of FL, GA, AL, MS, TX, AZ.

Somebody FIX THAT, please. (Think of it as a development program for future OLinemen.)
Where in GA

Now that I think about it, when I lived near Whataburger, I very rarely went there.
But now that they’re less available to me, I crave them all the time.
They are conceptually delicious.
But no wonder they frequently go out of business.
I now feel enlightened.
But still got the craving.

Whataburger had a pretty good green chili cheese burger here a while back.
Here is the PDQ chain I was thinking about:

Five Guys etc (great but) totally different kinda’ burger and burger joint
Whataburger is more in line with the big 3 (McDs, BK, Wendy’s) and other down & dirty fast food burger joints like Sonic, Checkers, etc... but IMHO Whataburger has more of unique crave-inspiring something to it (maybe it’s the MSG saltiness that coats your tongue for a few hours?)
As another poster said, it’s not that their quality is better, there’s just something that makes them more craveable (at least after 10pm, preferably buzzed)

With Five Guys it depends on the location, the quality really varies for example I’ve never once got a crispy order of fries in Tally but at the place in Tampa they’re perfect every time.

Burgerfi and Shake Shack are both better than Whataburger without a doubt but that’s comparing apples to oranges. Those are “fast casual” restaurants that focus on having great burgers while Whataburger has a drive through and prepared ahead.

Yep, the one in Palm Harbor closed years back, was sad to see it go

Did your patronage when they were open equal your level of sadness now that they're gone? Mine didn't, and since their stores never seem busy during the daytime, I'm beginning to think maybe Whataburger is not enough of an everyday kind of choice even by their fans to sustain a healthy biz?

Shake Shack for the win! :D

i would love it if Whataburger ever set up shop in Atlanta. I miss Jack-in-the-Box as well, from my days in Houston. They were not afraid to try new things. Their simple tacos were like crack after 6 beers.

Can't fathom there is hate for Whatabuger, although the comment about the "fat poors" made me force air out of my nose. And I tried BurgerFi. Who brought that trash up? Someone hating on Whataburger and Five Guys more than likely. No one has mentioned Smash Burger yet? Prob because it sucks as well. Look, Whataburger has a place in this world, and it sits atop the fast food burger joints. All this craft burger shite like Shake Shack is in a different category, like comparing your Mom to Kate Upton. I'd put any of these artsy burgers against Freddy's, and old man Freddy whoops dat azz every day.
