The #1 Fraternity in all the Nation - FSU Pikes

I think we had two, Stork and O'Leary. I could be wrong, but I think some frats make fball players honorary brothers just so they come around to parties. I'm guessing they weren't hazing Timmy Jernigan or James Wilder.

Is this like having an honorary doctorate?

My son is either going to FSU or Ole Miss next fall, he knows a couple of Pikes from his summer job and has mentioned pledging there. I hope that if he sees this video he'll keep an open mind about some other fraternities.

The story related to me was that the team was named "Crest." The Fireman came after I was gone. I was in IFC at the time and we were aware that the Pikes intended to re-colonize.
this kind of stuff pisses me off. I went to UWF, was a Delt and we were the least douchey bunch of guys you've ever seen. A few years after I graduated, we got our charter pulled by national. Things had gone downhill, in ways I don't even know all the details to. I do know the treasurer was accused of stealing money, which probably led to the chapter being delinquent on their annual dues to national. There was also talk of some brothers who damaged the shelter. Since it's a small school, the chances of this chapter EVER being picked up again are slim and none. A study was done last year and they found that there just wasn't enough student population to support another fraternity.

So you have guys at larger schools doing gang rapes, severe hazing to the point of losing body parts (another fraternity), etc. and that fraternity is reinstated a few years later. We were late on our bill, had some damage to some crappy 1970's paneling that probably needed to be replaced anyway and...death sentence. no I'm not bitter.

Delt Nationals has a habit of being knee-jerk when it comes to yanking charters although, from what you listed above, it sounds like your chapter was warranted in losing its charter. They yanked the charter of a good chapter at Texas Tech for reasons that are still not clear. I knew two guys in that chapter and, to this day, they still can't articulate why they got popped.

I was a Delt and had friends who were Delts at other schools. No one had good experiences with Nationals. I've heard Phi Delt's national office has itchy trigger fingers when it comes to yanking charters as well.

Sigma Chi looks like the opposite. They want to colonize everywhere. I wouldn't be surprised if someone tried to colonize the Tulsa School of Welding for Sigma Chi.

heard some interesting tales of goings on in the basement...of course, that may have been another fraternity. Debauchery of little sisters..etc.. was the rumor.

Clearly, you are not familiar with Fijimn's First Rule of How The World Works: Money talks, and bullspit walks.

There were several alumni, some local, who tried to put up the cash to keep them going. I myself sent $100 from my meager coffers.

Pike had alumni that wrote very large checks to the school. We aren't talking raising $5000 or $10,000 by twisting hands. We are talking donors dropping dimes to have a chair named after them. They told Sandy that the money train was going to stop if Pike was permanently banned..

Wait it only costs a couple dimes to have a chair named after them? Get ready for a Tribe chair.

The Theta Chis were their own brand of douchiness.
We had a few over the years...but nowhere near the level of these guys. I would say that you'd have to be pretty desperate to put Charlie Crist in your video.

The kiddies are all about excess down here...

I guess. I'll admit I goof around with a ton of different Photoshop programs mainly when I'm bored on the plane flight back. But I don't have 100% of my pics set to 100% HDR on the same program. The dude obviously thinks he's a photographer but come on...not everything has to look like an 80s cartoon. Sometimes photos can be what you'd see in real life.

When you look at the who's who of Pike in terms of influence at FSU, it's pretty major. Bobby, Charlie Barnes, Jimbo, several high profile types in state government - Crist is an FSU Pike - and some older notable football players. There is one guy from the 70's who was an All American and 1st round draft choice who was at one time an SAE and later resigned in order to become a post-grad alumni of Pike.

Remember this video from last year? That's their current president (last couple minutes of the current video)

They started back up my freshmen year in 1999. Decent dudes at first but mostly church mice. Became d bags towards the my senior year and all ran their mouth but had no bite. They really lacked an identity and were kind of made fun when I went there. Seems like they have grown.

I've been wondering, how has the Heritage Grove Circle location been working out for the fraternities?

When I looped through there a few months ago it looked nice enough, not super impressive but pretty good.

Hopefully they weren't serious when they showed off the cars their mom and dad bought them. Once Sig Ep was kicked off campus, unfortunately it seems like all the future Sig Eps of that stereotype diverted to pike. Charlie Crist has been a political laughing stock lately and shouldn't be mentioned. Andy Miller is also a Pike

The part with the cars was uber-douchie. it was funny when that one guy on a scooter came by though.

Stork, Cam and Eddie Goldman are all Phi Delts.
I never really got excited that a football player was part of our frat. None that I knew did shit as a pledge, never earned it, and it's not like they paid dues. They just showed up for the parties and initiation (if that) and frats kissed their butt to use them as a recruiting tool to tell other future pledges about
