The Official LR College Gameday Drinking Game Thread

Wow, meltdown of epic proportions. How many stupid plays can one team make

So we have a blocked fg, a blocked punt, a fumbled kick return on our 10, a couple other kick returns out of the end zone where we were tackled inside the 15. 2 interceptions. What else? Pitiful on the details

Did we have a single snap outside our own 20 in the 2nd half

Jimbo is just not an elite coach & look on his face shows it. Bama sat back and waited for mistakes. Then DF goes down at 24-7. We could be done on 9/2, awesome playcalling. FSU charging $100 for Reg season games, laughable.

That was a tough half. And I did it entirely without booze of any sort. Now that I'm back at the house, I will definitely continue my "spring cleaning" of old booze. I've got lots of old vodka, soju, moonshine and whiskey to get through.

The game plan was fine. Getting screwed by the officials on obvious pass interference at the end of the first half and special teams miscues really cost us.

Well I, as I usually do, turned the game off after the 1st int. How bad is Frenchy? Season on the line if he is done. September is a brutal month for us.

Defense played great. ST is hot buttered garbage. No excuse.

My husband tried to support me tonight by wearing a Noles shirt. I'm pretty sure it ended up jinxing us. Sigh.

I doubt we'll know anything about Francois until early next week unless the news is good.

I was thinking of your hubby and the Pack when the thought of throwing something at the TV became all encompassing.... somehow I calmly reached for another adult beverage.

Some alleged doc tweeted he would need surgery and would be out for the season based upon "his review of the video". So take that with an enormous silo of salt, but it did look really bad.

I was there. First class facility and have to say the Bama fans were pretty great overall. We were feeling pretty good three minutes in the second half because honestly up to that point we were better team. Reminded me a bit of Oregon game where you felt like we could come out and win and then team crapped the bed second half. Right down to the good opening drive in second half.

I don't think Jimbo called his best game. He stubbornly refused to run his best running backs....

Allow me to give you a synopsis. Fire Jimbo. Fire Kelly. Fire Trickett. Fire Graham.

No, don't fire any of them. You are stupid and that was a stupid post.
Nice work on the cliff notes. It takes a special kind to deal with a college football message board meltdown. Kudos to you and the others manning the towers...

Honestly, up until Frenchy getting hurt I was not so bummed at what had unfolded. We have a great team and brilliant defense. The oline IS much improved. We simply were not quite as prepared in special teams and Alabama, under what we have to admit is best college football coach ever, certainly of modern era, had his guys near flawless.

Frenchy going down was kick to the nuts and hurts. But it may force Jimbo to run a bit more. We have a great corp at the RB position. You would never know that watching game last night, but we do.

Thankfully, on a happy note...if any of the rest of you are a big of a fan as I am of cfb in general, week 2 is looking better than any second week I can remember with several HUGE matchups (including UGa/Notre Dame, Oklahoma/tOSU, Auburn/Clemson, USCw/Stanford, Nebraska/Oregon, & the Utah/BYU "Holy War")!

Great matchups on paper but hard to get excited about them for me after last night.

Yeah. I definitely have dampened interest in college football now. Don't get me wrong, I'll still savor all of the Gator struggles and enjoy whatever victories we pull out with a freshman QB, but I'm not likely to be "all in" where I'm constantly listening to college football talk shows and watching all of the ACC and SEC games like I did last year.

It doesn't help that based on this week and a half of football that the ACC looks like it's slunk back down (FSU, NC State and UNC all losing. And Louisville, Miami, Boston College, Pittsburg, Virginia, all struggling with weak opponents. And Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech could add to our losers column. Only Clemson, Duke and Wake successfully beat up on their lesser competition in solid fashion.) and the Big Ten and SEC look to be back at the top of the heap. The Big Ten in particular looks like they will be excellent this year.

The only consolation is that UF looks like it might be in for a 4-8 type of season.

Between Arsenal's dismal transfer window and horrible start to their season, Team USA Men's Soccer's awful performance against Costa Rica which now has them in jeopardy of not qualifying for the World Cup, and now the shellacking from Alabama coupled w/the loss of Francois...I'm just plain beat down, sports-wise.
