So Microsoft has deals to ensure the ever popular FIFA and NBA2k video games are on Xbox— yet there is no good baseball game on the platform? Why?

From what I’m reading The Show is an incredible baseball game but is owned by Sony which leads to PS4 only. Anyone else find it strange there is no XBox baseball game similar to the quality of FIFA or NBA2K? Thoughts?

Strange? Yes and no. Disappointing yes but strange no. First off RBI is garbage. The last good RBI game was still cartoony and like 20+ years old. These new ones are horrible. Basically it's simple supply and demand. Baseball games on consoles lost their luster and were overtaken completely by Madden and FIFA. NBA games too sell better. Once overall baseball games declined Sony swooped in and got the only official MLB license deal and they have one of their own houses make the game. Gives them a nice carrot over Msoft. Personally I'm an XBOX guy and would like a baseball game, but not enough where it sways me system wise.

Did you think the Y2K series for MLB was any good? I always thought the graphics were really good but the pitching in our latest version (2k13?) was weird.

The subreddit I was reading was not a fan of R.B.I. either...

This is correct. Went with a PS4 for my son for this reason. The Show is a good game. RBI Baseball on Xbox sucks.

One more reason I chose PS4 over Xbox.

Why I have both an XBox and PS4.

Bingo. They aren't that expensive, I have both as well. Used to be more of an XBOX fan with the 360 over PS3, but lately the PS4 is much more reliable and I don't have controller issues (randomly disconnects for me, probably an issues with my actual Xbox itself).

I always downloaded MLB2Kx and played them online, I thought they were really good games, but do know EA sports discontinued the series a few years ago which sucks because I loved that game.

Is this where we brag about our setups? Sweet! I just sent my wife a layout for our systems as we just moved into a new place and are taking things out of storage so I don’t have to do any work to brag here other than explain what some of the systems are. Unlike a lot of gaming nerds I don’t like displaying boxes or rows of games so I have all of my gameboxes stored in big cardboard boxes and placed in a storage facility. Instead I keep all of my disks in folders Color coded to the systems and the cartridges are kept in purpose built storage holders. That way I only display hardware which looks pretty nice in a quasi museum setting rather than looking like a game store or library.

If the show is anything close to what it was on PS3 it's worth getting the 4 just for it. I played the crap out of 09 and 11 back in the day. Used to play all 162 games of a season and have a RTTS going. Then ran out of free time to enjoy the game.

Anyone know why the MLB2k series was stopped? From what I read each years edition was worse than the previous years and eventually they just stopped making it and focused on FIFA, NBA2k, and Madden. As I said above the pitching in the 2013(?) version was weird/ had some quirks. But prior to that years version I thought it was really good.

All I want is a modern version of Earl Weaver Baseball. To this DAY the best computer baseball game of all time. God I loved playing classic HOFers and then watching Earl kick dirt

The Show is still the premiere baseball video game. In the process now of downloading '18 and have been playing '17 everyday since I got it a year ago.
