Think about this, if Jimbo leaves

If Jimbo leaves, as rumored, it will be after the ULM game. Presuming we win that game, he will not coach in the bowl game because he needs to starting poaching all the recruits that he had for FSU to switch to TAMU. We'll have an early-December Weedwacker Bowl game; maybe not enough time to hirer a new coach. I say they bring back Bobby to coach, recruit a little bit. Having Bobby come back would be a drop the mic moment.

Dude, Bobby doesn't know our personnel, our playbook, our terminology. He's been out of the game for 8 years - more if you count the latter stages of the lost decade.

I get that it'll make a nice photo op, but it'll be an embarrassment for us and him. He went out with a win, leave it that way.

I'll let you in a well known secret, Bobby didn't know the player's names, playbook or terminology since Brad Scott was calling plays.

I just want Bobby there to tell all the Mamas that FSU will be just fine....and, aw shucks, would you just miss Jimmy and Joe terribly if they had to move all the way to College Station...that place where they let their students climb on a giant pile of sticks that fell over....doesn't seem like a safe place for children to go..

The only way we win is if Mark Richt came back to be his OC, but it would still be great.

I bet his grandkids are old enough now that we could have an entire coaching staff full of Bowdens.

Who gets the interim role?

Odell?

That's a really good question. Usually it's one of the coordinators. Sanders hasn't officially departed yet. Maybe he gets the bowl job. Odell might do the best job. It's kind of sad there isn't any obvious choice. Actually it's more of an indictment.

Very true

I just find it funny/sad that JF plays the assistants are family card yet by him leaving he is insuring that most of them will be gone and looking for work in about a month or so.

They were gone regardless. But to your point...him preaching, "don't give up on the kids" crap all year and now he is high tailing it out of town is funny.

i hope he sucks balls at A&M

.
...not entirely true...he knew toss sweep strong side (46 aka 'Bobby Bobby") and reverse

This and "I have to protect/provide for my assistants." Yet he's going to ditch every one of them unless he takes them with him.

Odell should get the call out of sheer loyalty. He already is an assistant head coach and rumored to be the only one to be retained with a new head coach and staff coming in.

Bobby went out a winner. Let him stay that way. And after 8 years out of the game not to mention being 88 years old he is bound to be rusty.

I wouldn’t mind that. Would like to see if he has what it takes for the head coaching position. And I wish it was different for Dawsey but he hasn’t cut it. Maybe we’ll pursue Ron Dugans to coach receivers

Whoa, I wasn't suggesting he take the reigns for good, just for the game this Sat and possibly the bowl game if we don't have our new guy in yet.

I'm all in on the Frost train, yet it doesn't look like that's a possibility. Sounds like Taggart or Fuente, with some weird rabble about Bob Stoops showing interest. Taggart would probably be a great hire, along with his staff of Cristobal and Levitt, and also rumors of Justin Fields reopening his recruitment if Taggart ends up in Tally.

I’d be happy with Stoops

I don't know; do you really think he would have fired that many guys? Now that I look back on JF you have to wonder why it was so easy to go off on his 20 y/o QB but not his grown man coach that allowed yet another sack or big hit on the same QB.

Just guessing, would think 4-7 fires

If JF does coach the ULM game and losses how does that look. I would also like him to coach the game; but have the players call the plays and schemes. Just to see the look on JF face as his players shove it to him; but win big.

Why the heck would you want him to coach the ULM game. That would a colossal boo fest. I want him gone tonight. Plus that would give him a losing record in his last year here.

I don't but; I thought nothing could go public until after the game?
