It's probably all about money. I'm sure there's a bonus for making a bowl, and there's probably also a reduction in some of his buyout once the season is over.
Yeah, but that's chump change compared to his new salary. I'm sure Texas A&M could cover that amount as part of his buyout. Heck, I'd bet most of us fans would chip in just to get him out of here.

I disagree with that. I think Sumlin is a great coach, but was hamstrung by the racist boosters at aTm. I think he would be a great coach here in Tally BUT there are even better ones out there. I think Willie will knock it out of the park in Florida, his connections and the staff he’s bringing in should have us competing with Bama for best recruiting class every year.
So while I do think in terms of straightforward coaching, Sumlin is better than Willie. In terms of recruiting, staff and youthful energy Willie wins out.
But simply because of the optics, I wouldn’t want Sumlin at FSU this year. Hiring the coach aTm fired is a bad look when they’re already “stealing” our coach.
Honestly if we get Taggart, Ron Dugans, Cristobal and either Elko or Leavitt in for cheaper than Jimbo and cronies we have made out like a bandit! Heck I’d take that swap straight up. Jimbo may be a better Xs and Os coach, but Taggart is a better recruiter, better CEO, better booster schmoozer and brings a MUCH better staff. At worst that will equal out.
I thought it was pretty clear we were discussing football here. Even if someone didn't know about Mr robinsons neighborhood, it would be pretty hard to miss Hamilton standing on the sidelines.
Why the LOL? Sumlin is the best coach aTm has had since WW1. That’s not me saying that, that’s the winning percentages. And that was in the SEC West not the easy old SWC or the Big 12 that had a fair amount of cake teams back in the day.
I don't see how racist boosters fired sumlin after racist boosters hired the man. Maybe there weren't any racist boosters back then and they onboarded some new ones? I wish someone was racist towards me and paid me millions of dollars to not work. Get over it already, not everything is about race.
Let's see how Jimbo gets treated when he fails to deliver in a few seasons.
Isn't Sumlin the coach who didn't have a playbook with Manziel? I might be missing something, but I'm not sure how that works out to being a better X's and O's coach.
It would be epic if they could pull that off, which I don’t think they can. But imagine Jimbo watching on TV as thousands tomorrow chant “Bobby Bowden”...it would be the ultimate FU Jimbo.
