Someone gave me a 42” Panasonic tv. It’s really nice, but they had it mounted to one of those pieces of furniture that has a faux wall mount thing on it, so it has no “base”.

I ordered a third party “universal” tv stand, but it didn’t work- back of this tv isn’t flush top to bottom.

The OEM part sells the stand, but not the bracket- on top of them wanting $125 for it.

I’m overwhelmed trying to find a stand or base or even a wall mount that specifically lists this model. Any help?

Tv model TC 42LD24
“Part” number for base, but not bracket? TBLX0164

you just need a standard VESA wall mount 200mm x 200mm that is strong enough to support a 42" TV.

I was hoping to find a stand, as I just purchased a table for the room it’s going in

Why wouldn't a TV mount compatible universal base work? Should be essentially same as mounting on a wall mount.

i think the actual part number for the stand (if you want that sort of thing) is TBLA0540. it appears that TBLX0164 is just the base without the bracket.

did a few quick searches. can find old ebay listings but nothing current unfortunately. for what the ripoff merchants are going to charge you OEM for the complete assembly money would probably be better spent to buy a new TV with warranty. you can get a 43" LG 1080p LCD for not much over $200.

I recommend that you do it properly and get a 65" LG OLED though. Only a few dollars more! o_O

None of your links worked for me dmm- but he short answer is most universal brackets come straight up |
My tv has a lip at the bottom like a b

@GbrNole I suspect I’ll end up with a wall mount above the table. But I’m even worried about “universal mounts” now because of the backside of the tv

dmm's suggestions were good, his linking skillzzzzz left much to be desired! lol

this is the third one he linked take a look at the pics - it may get the job done?

Hey! I fixed them before your last post! Yeah, I was posting from my phone and didn't see the extra portion copied from the Amazon app. Doh!

Even third link has the brackets flush against the back of the tv, with b portions on the side.

It’s such a stupid problem to have, I know.

I need a bracket attachment that attaches \ style instead of | style

Don't those vertical brackets adjust so that they don't go the full height of your tv? I use something like the linked product above because I have a sound bar that sits in front of my tv. The soundbar was blocking the TV's IR sensor, so I needed something to raise the tv. The stand I bought is basically a wall-mount and stand all in one. It just replaces the tv stand that came with the tv so you can adjust the height of the tv. I don't recall what the brand is, but I got mine off Amazon too. Took a couple tries to decide the right configuration, but not that difficult.

i still love a plasma picture and the fact there is no issue with judder or motion blur. game changed though when 75" TV's became relatively normal!

i just need a relatively economical 100" 8K OLED tv and i think i would be happy for a little while.

I’ll call Panasonic later, because the bracket doesn’t seem to be available. Or I’ll get a wall mount

I coveted a plasma for years. I pretty much got one off the last train out of town...it was one of the last three available, a Samsung. It was the third consecutive big screen technology I grabbed as the sun was setting on it (projection, DLP, and plasma) which gave me dirt cheap prices on, at the time, great picture quality. Missed the window on the Panasonics completely, but those last Samsung plasmas were decent.

Was so happy...and then less than a year later my stupid kid put a yoyo through the screen...no more plasmas to be had. Never been madder at a kid.

Ended up with an LED, and truthfully, I've been pretty happy with it. Got an insane deal on a Sony 850C 4K HDR...not the best but a very solid TV. I can't say I miss the plasma, even though they still are the best as so many aspects.

Now, two years later, we're moving and I've got a strong urge to sneak an upgrade in as part of an impeding move. OLED is still out of my range, but the Vizio P series 65" is $1200 at Costco, and the Sony x900 has hit $1500, and the Sony x930 is under $2k. I really like those sets at those prices.

I probably need to just cool it until Black Friday at least.
