What's up guys?
We're supposed to get Mike Norvell and a couple of players here in the next few minutes. It's been a week since we talked, so there's a lot to cover.
Thanks for stopping by. Should begin right around 10:30 or so.
Stay tuned.

"I've missed seeing all your faces via Zoom. ... Been good to get back out on the practice field the last couple of days. ... Really proud of the guys and the effort they've been putting forth this week. ... Last night, being able to get that solidified, knowing what the schedule is, was definitely exciting for our guys .... we're limited numbers right now, but the work we did get in, was really pleased with that." Says he was grateful to coach Asante. "Phenomenal young man." Says that with the calendar changing, that he understood Asante's decision. "We had a good talk there on Sunday, support him on his future endeavors and his journey to the next level." Says Webb has all intentions to be here in January. "This is something he made a decision on ... definitely expecting him back in January, we've have good conversation." ... On Woodbey ... "Jaiden is somebody that has been a remarkable Seminole." Says he will be a grad transfer. "He's going to explore those options. Nothing beyond that other than support and encouragement for Jaiden."
"It's a different year with scheduling and all those things, but grateful for the opportunity to compete."
He says they were prepared to play some players two ways if they had to. Before the Duke game was postponed. "Felt confident that we were able to get that done, we do have some guys with some position flexibility ... it was something that we were prepared to do. ... We do expect having guys back sooner rather than later." Says CDC is going to shorten the quarantine time, "if that happens we're going to get the majority of our guys back. ... we'll see how that goes."
"Saturday when that happened, there's always the immediate concern of what is this going to look like for the next week." Said Sunday night he got confirmation that they would be able to play another game. ... But they didn't know who until yesterday. Says the practice on Tuesday was a good one, because they were practicing for a faceless opponent at the time.
"Quarantine time is subject to change ... that would definitely help us. But even if not ... we should have enough time to get that done (players ready for Duke). ... Our guys were ready to adapt and adjust to be able to play this week if necessary. That's part of this year, part of the challenges that do arise, you just continue to push forward and control the things you can control. ... Continue to keep them in a safe atmosphere."
"The opportunity to compete. .. I know there are a lot of things talked about nationally ... these guys are competitors. We are one of the youngest teams in college football, we need every rep we can get. ... When (a game) taken away from you, that's emotional. ... We've played two games in five weeks and it's one of the most challenging things I've ever faced as a coach. ... We are competitors and we want to play." Said it was a "great joy" to be able to tell the players they were actually going to get to play games again this season. "It's important. Every game, every moment, every rep, you don't take anything for granted."
"It's extremely emotional. I love this. I love the opportunity to coach. No matter what the circumstance. ... Being so young, having some adversity that's shown up throughout the course of the year, that's the joy of it. To not get the opportunity to see the investment and work and have that competition ... but I'm really proud of our guys. ... To keep the right mindset, to keep the right approach, that's what makes football great. Because football also mimics life. ... I'm really pleased with this team, I'm grateful for these coaches. ... Just knowing that we have two games to look forward to, definitely grateful for that."
He says the team had good energy on Tuesday, even before the new schedule had been announced. "We're here to work, we're here to get better." Says this week is being treated like a bye week.
"Nobody ever wants to get to game day and then have to cancel a game. ... I understand the protocols of why and the timing and the things that the conference was looking to do at the beginning ...but to be able to have all those results earlier in the week is a wise move. ... I can't control what anybody else says ... I'm around these kids, I'm around these coaches, I see the investment that's being made, I see the desire ... anything beyond that, once again, nothing I can control. We're definitely doing things the right way."
"You look at this year in particular, we started back in mid July going six days a week. ... And it's been a hard year. We've really had to work as we've gone. .. Now you see a season that's been extending further. ... We've really had to adapt and adjust to that. ... It's a challenge for the mental and the physical, because it is mentally fatiguing especially with the emotional swings we've had."
"I enjoyed practice today. I've enjoyed watching these guys. You see the desire, you see the work. ... With the youth that we have on this team, and with the older guys that are truly investing .. that brings you together. We know the challenges we've faced this year ... through that adversity, the response, the energy, the encouragement, that is bringing us together. ... That's drawing this football team closer. I'm so excited about the future that's in front of us. ... This provides a great opportunity and I'm excited about the response I'm seeing."
That's a wrap for Norvell.
Jordan Travis is up next.
"It sucks for sure. Waking up and preparing all week for a team ... this week we came in and didn't know what was going to happen. It's just unfortunate but we're trying to get better every day."
"It's an opportunity to play football. ... Just try to get wins and go out and with a positive mindset, get better." Said today was really special, seeing how hard guys competed.
"We respect their decisions for sure ... but we're still a team here."
"It's just unfortunate for sure. it's tough. It's all a learning lesson, hopefully we'll never have to go through something like this again. Losing games is always tough ... Florida State will be back soon."
"Guys are going out there 100 percent. Guys that are out there playing. Some guys don't have backups, so they're getting a lot of reps."
"I feel amazing. It's a great feeling to feel 100 percent. I've just got to stay 100 percent. ... I've just got to get bigger. My main goal this offseason is to get bigger."
"I think it's just guys loving football. We're at Florida State University ... just going out there and seeing guys smile."
He's asked a weird question about Clemson, says he's trying to focus on the teams who are now on the schedule.
"Being there for one another is very important, because you can't do this by yourself at all."
That's a wrap on Jordan Travis, who is just trying to get better every day.
Up next is is Amari Gainer.
"You can't take this opportunity for granted, just going out there ... trying to stay positive and looking forward to the opportunities that we do have."
"Still practicing and watching film ... going back to fundamentals ... you should never get bored of doing the right thing."
"I just love playing football, even if we had some bad news, like we weren't playing, it was still a blessing being out there with my teammates practicing. ... I'm excited for the opportunity. I'm ready to go."
He says they've done pretty much everything in practice. "It's just basically good on good now. ... One man down brings up another opportunity for someone else. So, it's still back on schedule."
"I played some running back in high school. I can play both ways. ... Take into account the safety of everyone."
That's a wrap for Gainer.
And that's a wrap for the day.
Football is (kind of) back baby!
Thanks for being here. We really appreciate it. Sincerely.
Peave. Love.
