FSU sports information:

Winners of six of its last seven games, the Florida State women’s basketball team comes into Thursday's big road matchup at No. 22 Louisville as one of the hottest teams in the ACC. Only league opponents Virginia Tech (7-0) and Syracuse (6-1) have held equal or better records over their last seven games.

Sophomore guard Ta’Niya Latson has produced another outstanding season. She ranks in the Top 10 in the league in scoring (4th; 21.67), assists (7th; 4.33) and free throw percentage (2nd; 85.7%). She joins only Notre Dame’s Hannah Hidalgo in ranking in the Top 10 in the league in those categories.

The Seminoles go for their fourth AP Top 25 win of the season, owning ranked wins over No. 11 Tennessee (92-91), No. 20 UNC (70-62) and No. 11 Virginia Tech (89-81). A win over the 22nd-ranked Cardinals would give FSU its most ranked wins in a season since having six in 2019-20.

The wild ACC standings include a four-way tie for third place between FSU, Notre Dame, NC State and Louisville with 11-5 conference records. Following FSU’s road game at Louisville, it will host Clemson on Sunday at 4 p.m. on Senior Day in a game where Alexis Tucker and Sara Bejedi will be recognized.

Junior forward Makayla Timpson is two double-doubles shy of breaking Natasha Howard’s single-season record (15 in 2013-14), totaling 14 this season. She is also 11 blocks away from breaking former player Jacinta Monroe’s single-season record of 84 in the 2008-09 season. Timpson has 73 blocks this year.

The Seminoles and Cardinals are one of eight teams nationally to make the last 10 NCAA Tournaments.

With 214 made 3-point field goals, FSU is 19 away from breaking the school record of 232 set by the 2022-23 team.

Ahead 22-18 at the beginning of the second quarter .... the score is now 43-26 louisville. ... outscored 25 - 4 .... not impressed with the coaching ... bad shots, turnovers, dumb fouls.

A double-double from Timpson

But the rebounding disparity? And the 3-point percentage? Yikes

Bejedi was awful on offense 2-15, but you have to admire her determination to keep throwing up bricks ... and Louisville outrebounded FSU by 25.
