US Open

What is wrong with Tiger? Hurt wrist, tweaked back or sand in the eye?

looks like no Tiger this weekend as the scoring average is lower now.

Geez...Poulter had been playing so well and now is giving back so much on one (his 17th) hole.

Not a Poulter fan, glad he finished poorly.

Figjam should absolutely be disqualified for that. Not sure how the rules committee can seriously say that was not intentionally stopping or deflecting a moving ball.

I love Phil but absolutely agree he should be DQd for that. It was extremely douchy.

On the other hand, Phil is calculating and was very clearly sending a message to the USGA imo. Least ye forget how vocal he was about the Ryder Cup after the Americans were getting worked every time. It was only after Phil spoke out did you see any changes to the process get made.

My guess is you'll see the same sort of impact with future US Opens. Phil may not have the resume Tiger does but he's very influential regardless...

The USGA has come out and admitted mistakes made in the course set up saying the afternoon groups played in unfair conditions. I would think Phil's actions contributed some to that statement.

I tuned out after so I didn't see that. The only thing I saw was their reply to ZJ saying the same things about the course. The USGA did a real diservice to all the afternoon groups yesterday. They should cancel play today, erase yesterday's scores and count the 36 hole as the final.

P.S. I just caught up and saw the USGA's 'reason' for not DQing Phil. They are wrong again. Phil should WD but apparently he's not doing that either so they're all wrong...

What a difference a day and some heavily-watered greens make. Tommy Fleetwood gets a 63!

If you showed a picture of Tommy Fleetwood to the average person on the street and asked them if he was a British PGA tour golfer or a redneck from North Florida, 95% would pick the later.
