Watch who's ass you're grabbing...

I’m not sure the guy should be branded a sexual predator, but his actions were that of a creep, if not a social deviant. I didn’t catch what type of restaurant or bar this took place in, but I didn’t think the waitress was dressed inappropriately—not that it matters. Just wanted to respond to those who suggested she was inviting rude behavior based on her attire. She’s a skinny girl wearing shorts and a shirt that reveals a little belly, but otherwise covers her entire torso. Looks like a typical sports bar outfit. She’s clearly not working at a high class place like Red Lobster.

I would like to recap; mainly to see where peoples limits are. I find it so interesting how people justify their beliefs or opinions; when they can't apply the same standard to a similar situation. It is like verbal and moral gymnastics and it fascinates me.
- We all agree the dude grabbing her butt is very wrong.
- Many agree he should be registered as a sexual predator for the rest of his life, if convicted.
- Many agree her actions in shoving the butt grabber was fine.

So what if her pushing him down resulted in the guy hitting his head on the corner of the table and going into a coma or dying? No charges for the girl?
- What if he just broke his arm? No charges
- What if after being pushed down he gets up and punches her in the face, knocking her out? After all while I don't disagree with her action; she did put her hands on the guy and if we are striving for equality regardless of gender she is fair game. Even if the guy is a jack$$4 who grabbed her butt.
- Should she be charged with assault as well? Yes he touched her butt; however she could have called the manger and had the police arrest him; did she really have to get physical?
- My point on all this is what is the determining factor on her being wrong as well? If violence and assault (sexual or otherwise) are wrong is she in the wrong as well?
A little off topic but we had a QB who punched a woman in the face; the video was terrible and the player released and destroyed on TV. He said she called him the N word; ok if true does that warrant getting punched in the face. Remember she also put her hands on him too. Based on how most people are ok with the papa johns guy getting thrown out of his company and destroyed, it seems like using the N word is pretty close to grabbing a butt.
I don't know but would love to hear others opinions, some more than most.

Agree with the girl doing what she did
Disagree being labeled or jail time.
He walked by and touched her butt, he didn't maliciously grab, didn't penetrate her, didn't hurt her etc...what he did was inappropriate but the guy shouldn't be branded for life (unless it's a frequent activity of his)

I never blamed the victim.

I have stated repeatedly that you shouldn't grab ass and it wasn't her fault

I said you can be smarter in decisions because other people are not always rational

Anything else is looking for something in my post that doesn't exist

What would happen if the genders were reversed? What if a woman pinched a male server's butt and he grabbed her and slammed her on the ground? Would everyone be saying he did the right thing?

No, the woman should be punished severely for leveling a false accusation.

I don’t understand why we are talking about false accusations, though, as the topic of this thread is clearly and undeniably an assault.

The risk with punishment for false is accusations is...how do we prove a false accusation? Is it the assailant doesn't get charged? Doesn't get convicted? "Victim" admits it was a lie? Sexual assault/harassment victims (men and women) have a hard enough time coming forward. Risk of punishment for a (non) false accusation could further deter victims from coming forward.

Now, in cases where the "victim" admits to lying, then yes, punish away (like with that one football player last year).

But how often does that happen, really?

To your question - in my opinion, it would not be ok for a male server to body slam a drunk female who grabbed his butt. I recognize that’s a double standard but I’m ok with that. Not everything has to be even across the board on every issue.
