I was supposed to go out of town for dinner Friday, but my wife has pneumonia. My kids are going with their grandparents as planned, so I'm taking care of my wife for the weekend.

I figured since I'll be here I'm going to cook a few things.

A small 5lb Prime Rib Roast in the Sous Vide, finished on the grill with mushroom gravy....
Hassleback butternut squash....
Mashed Yukon golds with cream cheese....
Mashed yams and acorn squash with maple....
Vidallia onion pie...
Boxed stuffing....

Watch'u got?

Big family gathering, I am only doing some of the side dishes. I am making Mac & cheese, a broccoli & cauliflower in a spicy cheese sauce, and a dessert - chocolate bread pudding with Reese’s & Rolos mixed in (with a bourbon sauce, assuming I don’t drink all the bourbon first)

The usual suspects. Bird, stuffing, mashed taters, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie. The Missus always does a great job. Too much nostalgia to eat anything else.

Just the 4 of us unless my buddy and his wife stop by. Got a small bird I'll stuff in the crappy oven in the cabin.

We were going to go down to my sister and BIL in weston, but since we adopted a coupled of goldens from a rescue group, we are staying home.

Small 5lb boneless turkey breast which is being dry brined as we speak, dressing/stuffing depending on where you are from, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, mashed pots, and pecan pie.

A couple of nice pinot noir are in the wine cooler ready to be opened.

Because we were in NOLA until this evening, we moved Thanksgiving to Friday. Tomorrow i plan on messing around with my smoker - there are 6 lbs of brisket brining since Friday that I'm going to make into pastrami, some salmon curing and on the cold smoke tomorrow for lox and then smoking a turkey. Also going to try to make a country terrine (ham hocks).

Having my in-laws and my mother and sister over. They're bringing pumpkin pie, pecan pie, Apple pie, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, green beans and rutabegas.

Wife is making cheesy potatoes

I'm making a 20 lb bird with sage sausage stuffing, more stuffing, fresh cranberry sauce and sauteed Brussels sprouts with garlic, shallots and bacon.

Got the pies made tonight. Making the mashed potatoes and mashed rutabaga in the morning. Arriving hungry 2:30 PM.

Very nice.

This is one of two meals a year my wife cooks. We go traditional. Roast turkey, scalloped potatoes, green bean and corn casserole, cauliflower mash (for those trying to fool themselves), cranberry sauce and yeast rolls. I made a faux key lime and pecan pie yesterday. I'm smoking a turkey tomorrow just because I want to. We'll have leftovers out the wazoo.
