If it were just this instance, maybe you'd have a point.

A goal like that happens virtually every week in the EPL. Have you watched a Bundesliga match that doesn't involve their top 4? And there were multiple own-goals that were just flat out bad play just last week in the Champions League, one by Man City, a team who could arguably be a top 3 team in the world.

But hey, keep the snob nose up in the air, sure....whatever makes you happy. Of course, that attitude doesn't help the MLS (and with extension, the USMNT).

Not entirely untrue. But also for the technical aspect of it. The fact that the only way to have gotten a shot off was to turn his body while he was marked and direct the bicycle as well as he could in to a very specific area. I can appreciate all of the above.

Ronaldo's goal was better, but it should have been disallowed and a foul for high kick on him. He would have kicked that defender in the face had the defender (#2) really went for the ball harder.

In watching Karius... gotta wonder if he was on the take. The first goal, how would you not have the awareness that an attacker was 2 yards in front of you before you even released the ball? The third goal, why would you try to parry that thing? His positioning wasn't great the entire match and his plays were questionable at best.
