One massive crane is in place. The second will be erected while workers will begin stripping aluminum bleachers from the metal decks on Monday.

The metal decks will be unbolted from the ribs of the stadium and the cranes will lift them over the terraces.

Two crews -- made up of each trade -- will work 10 hours per day, six days per week, until the project is complete.

Its a race against a Sept. 10 season opening game.
Its a race against a Sept. 9 grand opening Gala celebration my boss Andy Miller has our events team planning.

Take away a month and a half of Sundays and we have about 250 work days to complete an aggressive project that will change Doak Campbell Stadium more than at any time since the University Center Complex was built in the 1990s.

The $85 million project will accomplish the following:
  • blast all the paint off the seating decks of Doak's east and west sidelines, north endzone and 100 level of south endzone;
  • re-seal the seating decks and apply three coatings (paint);
  • paint and improve more than 40 bathrooms throughout the stadium.
  • fix and paint other areas of Doak as needed and the budget will permit.
  • replace the 200 and 300 level of south endzone with the Champions Club which will include an additional 42,000 square feet of air-conditioned clubs and a 32,000 sq ft covered rooftop terrace;
  • finish the two towers containing six, high-speed elevators, scissor stairs and welcoming courtyard;
We hope also to add a large scoreboard on the south endzone, sound system, and possibly more.

Most of the project is being funded by revenue generated by the Champions Club seat sales while some of the improvements to Doak will come from Seminole Booster annual fund contributions.

Fun times. Really, really, fun times.

Web camera will let you watch progress
We will have a web camera videotaping all of it for your amusement starting very soon. You can watch the progress by visiting www.FSUClubSeats.com. We should have it live right after Thanksgiving Holiday.

Club seat sales update
We passed the 2400 seats sold mark and have our sights clearly on 2500.
We are ahead of our sales goal YTD and based on interest and prospects in the pipeline are confident we'll hit our ultimate goal of 3000 sold by Sept. 10.
With the cranes up and people seeing progress and preparing for 2016, we're seeing increasing interest including the purchase of club seats as holiday gifts.
