Football Recruiting 2026 Edge Trenton Henderson visit update

2026 four-star edge Trenton Henderson who was on FSU's campus for an unofficial visit three weeks ago has set up two official visits for this summer. He will visit Alabama (June 6) and Florida (June 13).

Based on the fact he told the Osceola FSU and Auburn were the schools that were sticking out to him at that time, I would be surprised if he doesn't announce plans to take an official visit to FSU in the near future. He told the Osceola that he plans to get back on-campus to watch FSU during spring practice.

The No. 22 Florida State women's basketball team (18-4, 8-2 ACC) will travel to face Virginia (12-11, 4-7 ACC) at John Paul Jones Arena at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

The ranked Seminoles have won the past six of seven meetings over Virginia, but the Cavaliers lead the all-time series 36-22.

Florida State is led by junior guard Ta'Niya Latson who is the nation's leading scorer at 26.1 points per game. Latson has recently been named among 10 finalists for the Ann Meyers Drysdale Shooting Guard of the Year and was included on the USBWA National Player of the Year Watch List that was released on Tuesday.

Makayla Timpson continues to lead the ACC in double-doubles with 13 and in blocks at 67. Timpson is also the active career leader in blocks (254) in the league and ranks fourth nationally among Power 4 players.

The Seminoles defeated Wake Forest with a 97-68 dominant win at home Sunday.

Baseball ACC changing baseball tournament format from pool play to single elimination

The ACC announced a change to its baseball tournament format on Wednesday. After using a 12-team pool-play format for the last eight years, the conference will move to a 16-team, single-elimination format for this year's ACC baseball tournament, which will be held in Durham, N.C. from May 20-25.

Pool-play format has been criticized for creating meaningless games due to the format and also taxing teams' pitching staffs with as many as four games the week before the NCAA Tournament begins. This change creates a greater advantage for teams who perform better in the regular season.

The top-four teams in the ACC standings receive a double-bye to the quarterfinals and would need to win just three games to claim the ACC Championship. Seeds five through eight would get a single bye to the second round and seeds nine through 16 would play on Tuesday in the first round and need to win five games to claim the conference championship.

This format change could also be an improvement for ACC teams on the bubble. Previously, those teams could end up on the wrong side of the bubble with an 0-2 showing in the ACC Tournament. Now, no team will suffer more than one loss during conference tournament week.
