Football Recruiting Short update on four-star LB Izayia Williams

Four-star linebacker Izayia Williams has already had a wild recruitment. He has been committed to Louisville, Syracuse and FSU. On Saturday, Williams returned to FSU for junior day.

Williams was committed to FSU for about two months, decommitting on Nov. 7. He plans to return to FSU in the spring for an official visit.

"They’re still a top school for me," Williams said after junior day wrapped up. "I like coach Norvell and the new coaching staff. ... I can tell they are good coaches. They all got good resumes."

Williams said he is also considering Alabama, Georgia, Florida and Penn State. He will attend a junior day at Florida next weekend and Alabama on Feb. 1.

"I’m just taking my time really now," said Williams, who expects to make a decision in the summer.

Golf PGSF FedEx Cup Week 4 The Farmers Insurance Open signup is still open if you want to join--****Reminder Wednesday Start This Week****

This is one of my favorite tournaments on the Tour; something about Torrey Pines appeals to me for some reason. Maybe it's all the para-sailers off the course, but I love it.

Meanwhile, I woke up the Tasty, Tepid divining rodthis morning and he informed me today is a holiday and he doesn't work on holidays. I told him if he didn't want to become kindling in the fireplace, he'd get up and get his picks ready. He responded that I don't have a fireplace in SW Florida, so I should go stuff myself somewhere.

So, it looks like I won't be using him any more, so I'll get out my whittling knife and go it alone this week, and the rest of the season probably. Little bastard.

Football Jim Phillips says ACC considering radical changes to conference title game

This would seem to devalue the league title game, which is a moneymaker for the conference. Unless we're viewing it as an NFL playoff-style bye?

From ESPN:

Commissioner Jim Phillips said the ACC could consider giving its regular-season champion a bye, and have the teams that finish second or third in the league standings play in the ACC championship game.

He said another possibility is having the top 4 teams play on the final weekend of the regular season: first place versus fourth place, and second place vs. third place, with the winners playing the following weekend in the ACC championship game.

Phillips said he will have conversations with league head coaches on a conference call next week to get their feedback on the plan -- specifically pointing to comments SMU coach Rhett Lashlee made leading up to the game in which he indicated the Mustangs might be better off not playing to protect its spot in the field.
