Jeff Purinton FSU AD

We need to make this happen. Resume speaks for itself. Graduated and worked at FSU. This needs to be priority #1 for our new president. Alford can stay in boosters. Purinton knows big boy football at the best school in the country. Jeffs SEC connections will only help for future expansion as well....

Its time for experienced leadership in FSU athletics dept. We gotta get this turned around in a hurry.

Adam Fuller

I was ready for us to fire Fuller at half. We just have been having too many struggles on that side of the ball, and let’s be honest, Fuller’s qualifications for the job in the first place were highly questionable. However, the second half was the best of defensive football we have had since the first half against UNC (thought that was fools gold), and before that since Pruitt. We are showing flashes though. We held Wake to 8 second half points, and shut out Notre Dame in the 4th quarter. We are actually showing some decent stretches of good defense.

At this point I think we should wait to the end of the season to make judgement on Fuller. Coaching consistency would be big for the players. The fact he still has the players giving full effort and penalties are declining is impressive. Let’s see if the defense continues to improve throughout the season

A stat that hopefully will put a smile on your face

And sorry, it's not football.

Alabama Rant

I know it’s enjoyable seeing Miami get destroyed, but I am so tired of the Alabama dominance personally. When is the last time you even heard of an Alabama player getting in trouble? It's a machine, that Saban has full iron clad control over. Former head coaches as "analysts". Money pouring out of their ears. Steroids? Absolutely. Cheating on recruiting trail? Most likely. Doesn't matter, it's such a well oiled machine that apparently nothing can penetrate. They have ESPN in their back pocket as well. Saban has so much power he almost ended the UAB football program. Alabama apparently tells the NCAA what’s going to happen as well. Just seems like too much power consolidated into one conference and specifically one team.

Rant over. Just ready for some more parity in this sport.

(9/27/21): They lost again, is it getting any better, small picture miscues

(3:00) Was that 2nd half defense real or...

(6:00) Diving into the same themes after another loss

(17:00) Not helping that a lot of exit transfers are doing well elsewhere

(27:00) Is this team any better than 2020?

ira story on OL?

@iraschoffel
can you do a story on the ols health ,, do not need to names or medical history but maybe just tell us of the first game OL
5 starter - W DLT S G and S
3 reserves - Lucus the other Scott and BJ
how many - no names is healthy and what we can expect for the the next 3 games

is Smiths back injury an all season thing? or in vague terms one starting player has a injury that may last all season and may only play half the games
can they rest of the kids heal up the next 14 days if rested ... are some of the injures so bad they can not heal until the season is over
can they not rest anyone since they do not even have enough OLs to practice if they rest them

Bailey said 4 of the starters were hurt
lucus is gone and
BJ - which is suppose to be a back up is hurt

what can we expect the next 8 games

Bamboo Game #1 of 2 This Weekend

Ladies and Gents, the bamboo will sprout this weekend briefly before unsprouting the following week at UNC, sprouting again for UMASS, and then unsprouting for the remainder of the season after UMASS. Hell if I am missing one of our 2 Bamboo Games this weekend, so I will be there to witness our 1st W of the season and we need your support too. Flog me with all the bamboo, FSU takes care of business 24-17!

I met Coach Andrews today at practice

Just wanted to share a little backstory on Coach Andrews with you all. Growing up in Tally, I know the significant impact Coach made on this program and I don't have to tell you all that (he's clearly the greatest coordinator/non-head coach in the history of college football in my opinion, and certainly one of the winningest). I had heard Coach speak to crowds a few times before but never got the chance to actually meet him. It was great talking with him today at practice.

Anyways, I wanted to share with you all something Coach Andrews did for my family back in 2007 that was very special. My granddad attended every game from 1955-1994 and was a huge fan of FSU his entire life. He passed away from cancer in 2007, but a few months before he died, he received a very special phone call from Coach Andrews. My granddad was a long-time booster, and we're not even sure how he got his number, but Coach Andrews called him up and talked to him for over an hour. My granddad was not doing well at the time and this put a very big smile on his face. My family couldn't believe that Coach took the time to do that.

When I told Coach about that today out at practice and thanked him for it, he put his arm around me and hugged me. Just a little tidbit about a coach who in my eyes is a legend on and off the field!

Admin, not the players or coaches, that have failed

The administration is the Owner and General Manager of this program and have failed us for the many reasons already discussed on this site. When you see successful college programs or professional teams, they usually have one thing in common. A great front office. We don't have that. We don't even have the brain power and wherewithal to even make another coaching change if we wanted to. My disappointment is directed at the ''front office'' of this program who have bungled a once great football program. FSU will only be relevant again when the leadership at the very top changes. Like any business, It all starts at the top. Pretty sad state of affairs. My freshman year at FSU, 1973, we were 0-11. I have seen a lot. The coaches and players are doing their best under the circumstances.

Anyone else not watch the game today?

I spent all day watching an incredible Ryder Cup, supporting some awesome former FSU golfers. I'm not a big fan of torturing myself, so I don't bother with the football program anymore.

If you want to support FSU athletics while at the same time keeping your sanity and putting a smile on your face, I encourage you to look elsewhere, including some sports that are going on right now such as our amazing #1 ranked soccer team that plays tomorrow. Our volleyball team is also having one of its best seasons in a while. They deserve far more support than the football buffoons.

No reason why this isn’t our coach !!
