Dr. Richard McCullough is giving his address to the Board of Trustees first. Some of his highlights:
- Research is up 42 percent (I presume he means dollars received through various grants). "Scientific research fuels innovation, discovery and economic growth solutions to our society’s biggest challenges."
- The St. Joe Company has gifted land for a joint project between FSU and TMH, a 180-bed hospital in Panama City. TMH is the operating partner.
- FSU has one of the lowest tuitions in the country. He says FSU is No. 1 in student satisfaction. "They’re having fun and learning."
- FSU received 82,000 applications from high school seniors, which is a new record for FSU. 1390 was average SAT. 90 percent of students were in top 10 of their HS grad classes. “It’s a tough place to get in.”
