Is he fully recovered from the Oblique injury? If so, I would say yes.So are we getting Strider on Friday??
I would expect Morton. He's been in the 3 slot for a while. So are we getting Strider on Friday??
The fact that mlb.com still has TBD shown for Atlanta's starter suggests that's not a done deal.I would expect Morton. He's been in the 3 slot for a while.
Perhaps, but if Morton pitches on Friday and the Braves happen to lose do you want all that must-win pressure to fall on a rookie? Given Morton's playoff experience I would rather put him in the must-win situation.Well considering they are both going to pitch in Philly, assuming Strider is ready to start, why not go with Charlie for game 3 and give Strider a few extra days off.
Yep. It's why he's the manager and we're not. Both are solid arguments. I'm sure that Snit is feverishly mulling over both options as we post.
Thank heavens!Yep. It's why he's the manager and we're not.
Good point. I was thinking if we get Playoff Charlie on Friday then chances of winning the game increase. Then Strider wouldn't have to feel pressure in 4 knowing Game 5 would be back in ATL. And if Charlie loses Friday, then we have the deeper bullpen to back up Strider in a must-win Game 4. Stuff like this could make your head spin.Perhaps, but if Morton pitches on Friday and the Braves happen to lose do you want all that must-win pressure to fall on a rookie? Still not announced. I sense some gamesmanship afoot.Good point. I was thinking if we get Playoff Charlie on Friday then chances of winning the game increase. As of 9:00am, according to ESPN, the starter still hasn't been announced.About to head to bed. I did one last check and the Braves still haven't named a starter for game 3. After much thought I'm hoping for Morton.
Well, after my little talk with Snitker he saw the light.Y'all beat me to it.
Interesting choice. Guess this way Mr Postseason will start game 4 either to save the season or clinch the series. Hope not too much bullpen is used up today, but I know that Snit and Kranitz wouldn't be running Strider out there if they weren't positive that he's ready to go.

Oh boy, I'm nervous now.
Seems like this will be similar to the bullpen games we saw last year. Strider just is the opener.Oh boy, I'm nervous now.
Can't go to the pen early three straight days.Seems like this will be similar to the bullpen games we saw last year. Strider just is the opener.
First, it will obviously depend on his stuff. Second, none of us know how healthy he really is.I bet Strider goes longer than 2-3 innings.
...and Morton is pitching tonight, right?First, it will obviously depend on his stuff. Second, none of us know how healthy he really is.
Strider is a tough-minded competitor ... He has some experience against the Phillies lineup, and I expect him to do well this afternoon.I bet Strider goes longer than 2-3 innings.
No. Morton tomorrow....and Morton is pitching tonight, right?
It was a rhetorical question.No. Morton tomorrow.
Looked like a world-beater through two. Phillies got their leadoff man on in the third and then he got bombed from the stretch.I just got home and Braves down 6 to 0. Did Strider struggle out there today?
It all began to unravel with the errant pickoff throw to first.Looked like a world-beater through two. Phillies got their leadoff man on in the third and then he got bombed from the stretch.
