***Dumping Ground For All Things Interesting and Silly On The Interwebs***

I was flying when the pilot had just instructed you are free to move around in the cabin. This older man, maybe in his 80s +, stood up and walked to the door and started pressing on it. The flight attendant quickly told the man to move away from the door. I don't believe he could have opened the door but to this day, I don't have a clue as to what in the world he was thinking in that moment.
The doors have a differential pressure of 8 lbs per sq. inch holding it closed.

I was trying to figure out where the Tiger got whatever is in its mouth at the end of the video. Someone tweeted that they are dangling meat on a string and if you look close at the beginning you can see it. That is why the tiger jumped. That poor girl has the worst timing and some serious trauma to deal with for years to come.
So the video was staged and the girl is a victim. She should seek counseling and sue.

Approximately 24,000 lbs total on a 6' x 3.5' door. But why push on it? Have you heard of passengers doing that?

That driver wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, per this detailed account, and still survived.
So I’m dang sure not letting the gubment tell me I gotta wear a seatbelt no more!
I knew seatbelts do no good.
Too many years of watching Dukes of Hazzard I'm sure.

Ill bet that's exactly what she said while flying through the air in her 14 Altima. Whats more likely is she looked up from her phone and wondered a) how did I get airborne b) can I get this on video and post on Tik Tok and c) I hope I dont break this phone when I land.

Not really. Pushing on it won't do anything. They are plug type doors. On a Boeing the doors actually start inward, the top 4(ish) inches retract and the door then goes out at a slight angle and then moves forward towards the nose and out of the way. Scarebusses are a little bit different but still are plug type doors. Even the cockpit windows come inward as they open.

That is awesome.

My son had the exact opposite reaction to his first tasting of ice cream. He spit it out. Years later he would try various brands and not like those either. There was a creamery we would visit while at at the beach and every year he would go up to the counter and ask for a cone only. Without fail the person working would look at us while questioning his request. "Does he really want a cone only?" We would nod and without fail they would end up giving him cone out of sympathy that he must have some severe allergy that kept him from eating ice cream. As a teenager, he has since found a liking for home made ice cream but still not his favorite and is a distance second to an empty sugar cone. 🤣

I saw it in Homestead while going through Air Force water survival training.
Any instruction on what to do with sharks in the water? Did you form yourselves into tight groups, like squares in battle, like you see on a calendar, like the battle of Waterloo? You weren't in the water with a Herbie Robinson, were ya?

No real instruction except use that ineffective shark repellent yellow dye they gave us in our survival kit.
