For the fourth consecutive season, Florida State women's soccer has a MAC Hermann Finalist - college soccer's most prestigious award - as Onyi Echegini was named a finalist for the award on Wednesday afternoon. Echegini was one of three finalists joining Eleanor Dale (Nebraska) and Brecken Mozingo (BYU). The winner will be announced in St. Louis, Mo., at the Missouri Athletic Club on Jan. 5.

The ACC Offensive Player of the Year put together one of the best seasons in FSU history as she helped lead the program to its fourth National Championship and its first undefeated season. Echegini scored 16 goals in 23 games this season which is tied for the eighth-most in school history and is the most goals scored by a Seminole since Deyna Castellanos in 2017. Echegini's 16 goals led the ACC and her 37 points were tied with teammate Jordynn Dudley for the most in the conference and were also top 10 marks in the NCAA. Echegini scored three goals and tallied two assists in six games in the NCAA Tournament.

Echegini will be looking to secure FSU's fourth MAC Hermann Trophy as Jaelin Howell won the award in back-to-back years in 2020 and 2021 and Mami Yamauchi in 2007.
