Phi Delts Eddie Goldman and Cameron Erving also say hello from beautiful Hertiage Grove.
Hurting a bit following some police activity, but we will rebound. LolHow are the shoring jacks holding up at lovely Heritage Grove? Crazy that those conditions still have not been fixed.
Get it goldmom, she got some spunk! That was the era of the Pikes having weight equipment on their back porch and sitting out there impressing everyone with their ripped selves...I remember driving by there and getting an eyeful, I won't lie.
Met some Pikes from that era this season at tailgates and I must say my daughter and I had fun getting to know them.![]()
You met the wrong fraternity guys then. If you went for other guys you weren't initiated, most of us didn't have money, and most were down to earth.GDI all the way. Could never have some younger guy haze me or tell me what to do and have to pay to be treated like someones slave. I came in as junior from out of state where fraternities were for either the rich snobby guys or for guys looking to hook up with other guys. Most the guys I met at FSU that belonged to a fraternity thought they were better than everyone else and acted entitled.
I was a Pike in the late 70's and prior to that, it was somewhat true. My class started to change some of that perception. Most of the guys I came in with were good students and played sports. Fred Miller was the President when I pledged and a year later I was the VP. I ended up running against Charlie Crist for the position. That's another story for another day. Good times.
Yep. Also Billy McPhillips swam with me on our intramural team. He was an OL for us and flew through the water. You should have seen people step back when he got ready to go. A lot of good guys were there during that time.Did you know Ken Firth?

^^this man speaks the truth^^84-88 LXA
Pikes were the blow dryer choir, playing lawn croquet and wearing blazers to football games
Delts: Were the dancing delts
Sigma Chi & Theta Chi were cool
They all finished behind us in intramurals and ladies
Howdy Brother Fall 83 here
You must be joking! I was there from 83-86 and as your neighbor to the South in the big brick house I call BS. Had many good buddies who were Theta Chi's though, Cheers.84-88 LXA

Dang, FSU isn't the same without Lambda Chi.
It always came down to the Phi Delts and Pikes battling for the all sports trophy when I joined the Pikes 75-77. When we put some effort into the sports like swimming etc. we won it in 76/77.84-88 LXA

Didn't you have some guys who swam for FSU around that time?It always came down to the Phi Delts and Pikes battling for the all sports trophy when I joined the Pikes 75-77. When we put some effort into the sports like swimming etc. we won it in 76/77.
Two of us swam water polo and a couple of other guys were really good but no one on the intramural team swam for FSU. The water polo team was full of FSU swimmers.Didn't you have some guys who swam for FSU around that time?
With all due respect, while the Phi Delts & Pikes battled for the all sports trophy during those years, I recall that the Sigeps were a competitor as well.It always came down to the Phi Delts and Pikes battling for the all sports trophy when I joined the Pikes 75-77. Early 80's it was all LXA and PIKES, with a little Sigma Chi now and then. All 3 have had charters revoked, LXA is still not on campusWith all due respect, while the Phi Delts & Pikes battled for the all sports trophy during those years, I recall that the Sigeps were a competitor as well.
Checking in to represent the Divine 9 , which are the historically black fraternities/sororities. If Willie and staff were frat boys, it would probably one of them.
Where the Nupes at?!
Kappa Alpha Psi here
Spr '00 Lambda Omega (UCF) Deuce Klub
Transferred to FSU (Theta Eta chapter) in '01
Notable FSU brothers: Myron Rolle and Big Ronnie "Lucky" Lunsford (who I actually pledged).
Seems that many of the frats down there have had more than their fair share of drinking & hazing incidents.Early 80's it was all LXA and PIKES, with a little Sigma Chi now and then. All 3 have had charters revoked, LXA is still not on campus
Yes, former FSU QB from 1973 thru 1976, I was there during those years!Alpha Tau Omega here....Jimmy Black preceeded me. Anyone remember him?
Yep.Everyone knows Theta Chi is the best Fraternity!
My first year we had a soda machine at the Frat house which dispensed Old Milwaukee bottles for a quarter....those were the days. We were adjacent to the KA and SAE houses.....we were the animal house. LOLSeems that many of the frats down there have had more than their fair share of drinking & hazing incidents.
Being in a frat for me was a great experience, have many fond memories!
Ah....the memories! Fred’s Backdoor Lounge, Big Daddy’s Beat the Clock night, The Electric Eye.
