How do you know when it’s time to say goodbye?

If only this is something to look forward to....beautifully written nevertheless...

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

there is a line in a twilight zone movie from the hunt (dogs in heaven). it goes something like this: an old man and his dog (blue) died while coon hunting and were later were walking down a road to enter the Pearly Gates. when they approached the first gate, the old man was told he could enter but blue could not because dogs are not allowed in Heaven. the old man told the gate keeper that if blue could not enter then he wanted not part of what was inside. they walked further down the road until they found another gate with a man outside (St. Peter). when asked what was on the other side of the gate St. Peter said Heaven. the old man told St. Peter that the other feller down the road said that his gate also was the entrance to Heaven. St. Peter replied that that was the devil and he was trying to deceive you and get you into hell. St. Peter then said besides, why would God separate in death something he joined together in life to be best friends.

Just curious...have you ever looked into pet insurance? We never did but in the case of our current situation...it may have been worth the expense.

Sorry, I just back to this. We have looked at the pet insurance for the puppies, but its not very good. The prices are around $50 each per month and if memory serves it doesn't include office visits for check-ups etc basically it only includes major/catastrophic injuries and diseases, then there are high deductibles. Then of course, they do not cover any pre-existing conditions. Right now we are just self insuring.....not sure what will do down the road.

Ok, thanks. He’s still hanging in there, but now we are rapidly approaching our moving date....it’s going to get very difficult soon. Have a great week.
