Jameis Winston Accused of Sexual Assualt Against Uber Driver

Bottom line due to previous accusations and more importantly how they were reported JW is already guilty in the minds of many people. The press has already convicted him. This is why unless there is undisputable evidence like a video etc. we and more importantly the media should just slow their roll. Of course that will never happen since agendas need to be pushed and money needs to be made.

Media is just reporting. People are making their decisions. This entire blame the media shtick is tiresome

If Darby is telling the truth, then this plays out like thisy, winston orders uber, 3 men get in, the uber driver has no idea who JW is. The driver reports some physical contact and because the service was ordered by Winston, it is then reported that he was the responsible person.

Now the driver has since gone back and looked up and see's who Winston is, what he looks like, and hires Gloria Allred for a civil suit.

If you say so. I recommend you do a quick search and see what is being said about JW and this incident. I have no problem reporting stuff; my issue is when you bring in stuff that you were cleared of or has no bearing on the current subject. Not to mention rolling this whole thing together with his past.
I hope you never get blasted like he is currently.

The Darby statement says a lot and yet again I feel like Jameis is again innocent. But, to me, because the accusation was immediately reported and handled correctly by the driver, I think she did get grouped. Actually , grouped is too weak a description. She was sexually assaulted.

So, based on facts, the stupidity Jameis is guilty of is not ratting out his a hole friend sitting in front seat. He has way too much at stake to care about being a “snitch”...to someone who sexual assaulted a woman.

On another note, can you imagine how much more overblown attention Baker Mayfield’s antics this year would get if his name was Jameis Winston

The third guy who grabbed her vagina needs to come forward and confess; it’s just a matter of time before it’s reported who it was, he should save everyone time and embarrassment and step up.

I know a guy who's said he likes doing that... but I don't think he was hanging out w/ Jaboo that night. ;)

Seriously though, I don't feel the need for the 3rd guy to be named other than to law enforcement b/c he def ought to do some time. You can't just go around grabbing people's body parts and get away with it.

Depending on this person past, he doesn’t need to “do time” for grabbing a girl in the private.

And whether he comes forward in media or not, it will leak out. He just needs to come forward one way or another.

You guys are just as bad as the media. You have whoever was in the front seat tried and convicted already. Just because she said it happened it must be the truth? Ask the Duke lacrosse players about that.

Maybe, yes its a stretch, but maybe she saw the name Jameis Winston, knew he was a NFL player, and set the whole thing up. Then after she reported him, had a change of heart. Until some friend of hers told her this was a great opportunity to make some easy money because he would likely settle to make it go away.

If there were really three people in the car, the Uber driver has already lied about the event. If Jameis was in the back seat, the Uber driver has told a different lie about the event.

The attorney wants Darby's phone confiscated to corroborate Darby's presence on the scene. Um... I doubt that information is on his phone.

There won't be much of a criminal investigation, if one at all. So I don't know how long this will be around in the papers. The only way I see it becoming a bigger deal is if the league suspends him.

This story is more about the "wow" factor of JW being back in the news for something incredibly bone headed...if it's even true.

I will say this is the first time JW has flat out denied. He admitted to having sex, admitted to stealing the crab legs, and admitted to yelling FHRITP. So the fact he is denying the allegation all together is something...people should give him the benefit of the doubt just for that.

I guess no one knows for sure....but does JW drink? I remember him claiming to have never had alcohol....does that sound correct?

Even if they are going for some GPS records, what are the chances that someone making NFL money has the same cell phone a year and a half later?

My point is, the cell provided might have the info, but it's probably not on the actual phone.

Who is to say that those people in the back seat saw what the guy up front was doing? Lots of assumptions in this thread. Hope none of you are ever on my jury.

Winston was one of the main reasons I became a Bucs season ticket holder but he is losing the benefit of the doubt with me.

On a side note, it is very interesting how the media reacts to players once they hit the NFL. If Winston was in college this would be round the clock news on ESPN. However, its barely mentioned in the pro’s. Kind of Crazy how we hold college kids up to a hire standard then grown Men.

I already know you are guilty!!!
Yeah-I get your point about not assuming she is not making things up. But, if nothing happened at all, especially given his past and especially given the likelihood it could later blow up into something, I am fighting Uber closing my account because a driver got groped. With his money, I am pushing back that charge and closure with 10 lawyers because it is explosive dynamite if left opened and not closed. Unless I am worried or know something did happen in the front seat. Just seems odd to walk away barely pushing back them closing his account. I know there is worry it would blow up then, but better right then with you being the reason for an investigation.

So jail time for "grabbing people's body parts" who are fully clothed????? I guess I need to go back in time and prosecute a few females who pinched my butt. Does pinching butt qualify for jail time? Putting your hand on their thigh?

I don’t necessarily agree with that. Especially given the past allegations, escalating things would probably be a very bad idea. It flew under the radar and still relatively is. Even being a season ticket holder, I am barely hearing it get mentioned. If Winston hired lawyers to fight uber, no doubt that makes headlines and not the type he needed. If the NFL investigates and finds out that Winston was in the back seat (should be easy enough to prove) then it’s barely a story.

It's really not this complicated.

Is that a yes or a no?

If I pinch a woman's butt in a bar, is that sexual assault?

If I pinch in on a date when I walk her to her front door?

If I pinch it at work?

What if it's at work, but we have had a sexual banter going? Maybe even seeing each other?

Answer the same questions if she pinches mine in those situations.

Thank you.

It's shocking to me that there adults out there who either don't understand this or can't accept it.

It is not that hard to figure out. Don't grab vaginas or really any other body part unless you're certain it'll be appreciated. How that isn't common sense is beyond me.

Forensic data proved sex and he would have been convicted of rape very possibly had he denied it. There was a video of him stealing the crab legs and the meme shouting was in front of dozens.

Pinching?

Who actually pinches a woman's butt anymore? Are you a crab? Stop pinching! It's not pleasant and no one likes it.

Those of you saying why didn't JW do this or that, breaking down his lawyers statement etc. Understand your thoughts but you weren't falsely accused of rape, had to pay some chick who knows how much just to shut up, even though all you did is have sex. Sure maybe he didn't handle it well or was dishonest with her; but if we have to go back and pay every chick we hooked up and then didn't want to see anymore then I am sure many will have to move to another country. The point is JW is going to do whatever TB and his lawyers tell him. I have no idea what happened; but I question things when someone brings stuff up like this well after the fact. Sure she reported and they cancelled his UBER account, so why did she stop there? If it was so bad and devastating why let it sit for so long after the fact? Those that say man if someone cancelled my Uber and I did nothing I would fight it; I doubt that if you are a multi millionaire having your Uber account even registers on your to do scale.

One thing I find interesting is based on what I have read and heard about NBA and MLB players when they travel and how the girls are waiting there for them in each town, yet so far no accusations. I guess time will tell.

He didn’t rape her, he had sex with her. So don’t paint as if he had no choice but admit to police he had sex with her.

He was told he was allowed to have the crab legs, lame excuse for thinking it was okay, but anyone who went to college had a friend with a hook up. Whether that was a free beer, shot, appetizer, etc...it’s VERY common with college kids. He came clean.

The yelling was a dumb meme with 1000s of people yelling it at that time. That wasn’t on video or recorded audio and he could have denied and said it wasn’t him, but he admitted and gave the reason why he said.

So any way...I’m giving him benefit of doubt for being honest forthcoming with all his instances. The only gap I’m seeing with the latest episode is that the last person, the person who “done it”, has not been named.

Have any of you ever tried to fight Uber? My friend is an Uber driver and they put his job "on hold" because someone accused him of assaulting them. They told Uber the driver hit them. Uber will not give him any more information about the claim, just that they are "investigating". The guy has not been able to drive for them in 3 months.

So, a passenger tells Uber he was hit and assaulted by the driver, yet he never calls the police? Makes sense to me.

Uber does not look into the investigations. This guy wanted a free ride, so he made up a story and Uber gave him a refund. Everyone is happy, except for my homeless friend who now has no job.

I don't think anyone has ever tried to claim uber is a company that acts with any modicum of integrity, ethics, or virtue.
They have a damn smart business model and don't care who gets chewed up in the process of their success.
They've openly said they'll only have drivers as long as they must and are spending tons on driverless tech.
Uber driver jobs are temporary in every sense of the word.
All that said, I really do feel bad for your friend if this passenger lied. Most drivers I see in the last few months now use a dashcam to record the inside and outside of the car. Should be mandatory.
