Heading down the end of this month with my wife, looking for recommendations on everything! I'm 40, she is 34.

FGL House good food and fun on the top floor. Hit the top floor of Acme Feed and Seed during the evening. Have to to Tootsies but it is packed. I like The Stage especially the top floor at night for their rooftop.

I’m not a country music fan so I usually blow past Nashville to go somewhere else, but Prince’s Hot Chicken Shack definitely lives up to the hype (they invented Nashville Hot Chicken). As a word of warning though, their heat levels are about one and a half steps up from the typical hot wing classification. In other words their Medium is hotter than Hobbit’s/BW3s/Kers/Hooters versions of Hot almost on par with their Extra Hots. I like “hot foods” myself so I get hot at Indian places and extra hot but not insane levels at wing places and my wife doesn’t like bland things but usually gets medium heat at Indian places and regular hot at wing places. At Princes this past week I got Princes Extra Hot (they go up to Extra Extra Hot) and my wife got Medium. The Medium was about the heat level I normally like (ie too hot for my wife) and the Extra Hot was hot enough it literally burned my fingers and lips and involuntarily brought tears and snot from me. Ie the Extra Hot was ridiculously painful even for me, someone who likes ordinary levels of hot foods.

This is basically Broadway, which is definitely a must stroll down and pop in and out of Honky Tonks. Other neighborhoods to check out are the Gulch, East Nashville/Five Points, Germantown and 12 South.

Check out what's playing at the Ryman while you're in town. The Bluebird Cafe is packed but a Nashville original.

If you want to drop some coin, The Catbird Seat is a must. It's probably all booked up, but worth a shot.

If you're into Civil War history, take a drive down to Franklin (Carnton Plantation, Carter House) and spend some time on Main Street.

Stay at The Thompson and check out Station Inn one night while you're there

Cosign Party Fowl (IMO just as good as Hattie B's and more fun)

If you're a beer guy, Bearded Iris

Wander around East Nashville. Gentrifying but still cool and a little weird.

Bluebird Cafe, Ryman, Exit/Inn, The Listening Room. All good but very different music venues in addition to the aforementioned Station Inn.

I've always enjoyed Whiskey Kitchen as well.
