PGSF FedEx Cup Week 29 The Open Championship

Good thing there are three par fives on the course otherwise Brooks would have no birdies today.

This has been a poor putting week for him. Missed way too many birdie putts.

This is true, yet he's still in the fight.
That is what is remarkable about Brooks. Even when he doesn't have his best, he finds a way to be in the hunt.
Meanwhile, Shane Lowry has just caught lightning in a bottle. Shane, much like Woodland, may never sniff a major again, but this
week, he's magic.

I didn't think about until they mentioned it but Brooks likes to play fast. Holmes is a slow play warning waiting to happen. I do not think that helps Brooks. That OB off the 1st by Holmes puts them behind the pace.

Damn Holmes is in full melt down mode

Not surprising. Look at his record the past two years. Almost as many missed cuts as made cuts. And his record in majors over that span .... highest finish was The Masters at 62. All the others were missed cuts.

And that of course affects Brooks' game.

Took some time but eventually my jinx powers captured my four. My apologies, Brooks.

Today was the kind of Open golf I love to watch, conditions so tough you kind so how hard those guys are working just to get par. There was very little drama as Lowry shot the round of his life Saturday to lock upo the tournament. Congratulations to Shane Lowry the joy on his face was great and the reaction of the crowd was outstanding.

In the PGSF , we didn't have anyone pick the winner, but our winner used the runner up to capture his sixth win of the year. Congratulations to this weeks winner @DFSNOLE

Brooks on Holmes today

I will add one more to Brooks' list. On number 10 when Holmes putted for a DOUBLE BOGEY and missed he stood there for 10 seconds at least in disbelief that he had missed a putt for DOUBLE BOGEY. Guy, it was a DOUBLE BOGEY putt you just missed. Get up to the cup and putt the dadgum tap in triple and get the heck off the hole. You had Fleetwood and Lowry standing in the fairway waiting on you.

But here is how much that debacle today cost Holmes. Had he finished in third, he would have earned $718,000. By plummeting 64 spots to 67th, he earned a whopping $25,400.

I thought it was a great tournament. With the weather, it still kept the outcome in doubt even with a 3 and 4 stroke lead until Lowry really took control on 14 and 15.

Interesting they did not do the silver plate award to the runner-up, Fleetwood.

Congrats to this week's winner.
