Since when did it become cool to wear Jorts??? When I was in school you wouldn't be caught dead wearing stupid gator garb like that. Guy or girl.
You and I just missed the years when Game Day meant the guys wore a coat and tie and the girls wore suits. It didn't put a stop to the sex that would hopefully follow, but it at least put a veneer on it. The girls in the pictures above look like you wouldn't be surprised to see them bent over a pickup tail gate in the stadium parking lot.
Is this where I'm supposed to say, "Get off my lawn!"?
No denying it. I spent several nights sitting in Doak when I could barely see the field. But weren't we just the coolest?
My comment has nothing to do with the morals of today's college kids, and I certainly don't see our generation (late 60s at FSU) as being superior in that regard, but I wonder what these girls are thinking when they walk out the door dressed like this? Seems like they're trying for the wrong kind of attention, but maybe they'll take whatever attention they can get. Maybe "classy" is a lost concept.
Girls in jeans shorts has always been great in my book. Now guys in jean shorts is a Hogtown thing.Since when did it become cool to wear Jorts??? When I was in school you wouldn't be caught dead wearing stupid gator garb like that. Guy or girl.
Mandy Pepperidge had the greatest chest in cinema history. Followed closely by Phobee Cates in Fast Times.Going with the Animal House reference, I guess you'd be Mandy?
As for the Phi Delt/Omega and SAE/Delta analogies, there are similarities. We were on probation (not sure if it was Double Secret) most of the time I was there, but the interior of our house was a step above the Delta dump...albeit a small step.
I can not tell you how many times I paused that scene in my youth!!!!

You have to tell some of those stories.Mandy wanted to be me...just kidding! But I definitely had the big ego going. I was also totally naive.
Some of the Folks on this board think their time at FSU was when we got a party school rep, but the late 60's was crazy. Our depression baby/WWII parents would have flipped out if they knew. FSU definitely had an Animal House atmosphere.
My daughter was with me this weekend in the Varsity Club and when some of my husband's teammates came up to me they'd say things like "hey remember that time when you..." and I'd be thinking OMG do not go there...
She's been teasing me unmercifully ever since.
You have to tell some of those stories.
