Tornado Tragedy

Just incredible that the tornadoes that cut across Kentucky, Tennessee and other nearby states created that sickening degree of loss. I can’t imagine what those affected are dealing with. Even more incredible (to me) is that the U.S. has endured at least 10 prior tornadoes — mostly from 75+ years long ago — that were stronger/deadlier. Just wow.

oddly timed tornados were one of the things that jumped to mind when the weather forecasters started talking of this weeks heatwave from the high pressure ridge sitting off the atlantic.

I've seen where you can purchase an emergency bunker made of hardened metal that bolts into reinforced foundations under your garage floor. I guess it might protect you in a hurricane but a tornado like that might send you into sub-space orbit.

Tornadoes are the scariest of all the natural disasters. Just horrible. I know hurricanes cause more damage to broader areas generally but not many people die from hurricanes unless they’re really just not listening to the warnings.

My hometown was directly hit in KY. The pictures are unreal. The tornado hit a part of town in that was low income area, it is heart breaking and those individuals do not have the means to rebuild. My friend, who is a state trooper told me the local hospital was filled with kids who had missing parents. My parents also told me, out of town looters where sneaking into the city to steal things from businesses and homes that were hit.

They should be shooting looters on the spot. Its time our legal system steps up and puts an end to this type of behavior.
