We watched practice for two periods. They started off with the short-yardage drill. Seemed more physical than any others we’ve seen. Players on the side were very animated.
Some big hits from Hamsah Nasirildeen and Dontavious Jackson. Tamorrion Terry about blocked Renardo Green into the other practice field on one of the final plays.

We didn’t see Anthony Grant with the RBs. Willie Taggart called Tre’Shaun Harrison away from the WR group to get some work in with the running backs.

Stanford Samuels and Cyrus Fagan were both in blue non-contact jerseys.

Story: Briles: Issues on first, second down cause FSU to be 'predictable' on third

Kendal said the biggest problem was momentum. Once they lost it, everything got tougher ... and kept getting in predictable passing situations.

He said James missed some reads and that other players missed some as well. That’s what led to some of the deep passes in the second half. He said they need to run the ball better and stay out of obvious passing downs.

Said he does think the team got a little relaxed after the big early lead. That things came too easy. Said they need to learn how to win. He also said there’s no thought to slowing things down because of time of possession disparity. Gonna do what they do.

Players said attitudes have been good since the game. Said they are focused on fixing mistakes. Believe that things can be fixed quickly, as Taggart said.

James Blackman said he thought the offense just made some mistakes in the second half. Said he didn’t think guys were panicking. They just need to lock in better. He did not think conditioning was a problem for the team.

Cam Akers said he thought the offense showed what it can be in the first half. Now have to carry it over for full game. Focused more on this week than last week.

Baveon Johnson says he thought conditioning was a problem in the season opener. Says that will be a focus this week. Says players know they have to run and compete in drills during practice the way they’ll need to in games.
