My favorite Olympic moment thus far in these games. What an anchor leg and finish.
They will replay it today. Quite possibly twice. That has been the usual SOP for NBC during the games. I saw the US women's pursuit skate for the bronze three times yesterday.
US men's curling team wins its 4th straight to earn the right to play for the gold for the first time ever after beating Canada 5-3.

Who is the blonde woman with the British accent? I see her on frequently but I never hear them mention her name. I know its not Carolyn Manno.
did you guys see where the Canadian hockey player yanked off the silver medal?
Katheryn Tappen on the hockey pregame is pretty nice.
I miss having NHL Network just because of her being on there nightly.
No she didn't yank it and I don't have an issue with what she did. It's often a very emotional time right after the game.

Kind of odd in that there was an article some years ago about NHL goalies and the designs on their leg pads and subliminal "targets" for shooters. Essentially, the eyes are trained to shoot for the abnormality in the pad designs, which played in to a goalie's style (butterfly in this case.)
No real relevance to these ladies and the gray area now that I think about it.
And most of the ice skating seems to have turned into gymnastics on ice. Not much style in it. It's just how many jumps they can do with a little hand waving in between. Hoping for some alpine skiing tonight.
I was watching the speed skating and thought that the Netherland's uniforms crotch flash was distracting. The US is worse.
How come no is is able to see this BEFORE during testing, design, etc?
I read a couple of articles today pretty much torching the results of the ladies contest. They pretty much echoed the same sentiment and agreed that the Russian girl that came in second should have been the winner. She is the more classical skater.
Because of some stupid rule where they get a 10% bonus for doing their jumps after the halfway point, the other Russian girl pretty much skated around the first half of her program before doing a bunch of jumps without a whole lot of artistry. Granted it is supposedly harder to do the jumps later, but it's still dumb rule. Somehow their artistic scores were pretty much the same, which no one understood.
They expect that 10% rule will be changed soon. I think without that in place, the other girl probably would have won.
The Koreans seem like weasels to me in that sport. I root for anyone but them.
Lately they have taken each other out giving me much joy.
You just have to turn to one of the other NBC channels. The main one has been ice skating central but the others have had good stuff on. I've watched very little of the main NBC channel.
I'll pass on the curling. The screaming is highly annoying.

We should be amazing at curling. It's the most northern midwest, Friday night beer league event for the winter olympics.
Was exciting, I was up til 1 watching it. Was good to see those guys win.
Watched the replay that started this AM after the hockey game. I found it to be interesting. Some real good throws by both teams, but that 8th end was something else.
I'm glad I got to see the 5 point end but unfortunately, that's where the recording stopped for me. Didn't get to see the end or medal awards.
