Winter Storm North Florida?

Grad school at Syracuse. "Syracuse, New York, which topped our list as one of the Nation’s worst weather cities, also tops the list of snowy cities, with an average of 126.3 inches per year." https://www.farmersalmanac.com/weather/2015/11/30/snowiest-places-in-us/

You had to climb a hill to get to campus. Cars would wait at the bottom on the main route while one car after another tried to get to the top. Slipping and sliding. Gravity usually won. I didn't ever try the hill in severe snow. Just turned around and drove back to my apartment.

I recall the fountain at Wescott being frozen for nearly a week- and we had snow flurries in Tally on St. Patrick's Day in the early 70's.

I remember reading about this. I also remember the climate narrative back then was Global Cooling. There were a lot of folks convinced we were entering a new Ice Age. Funny how narratives can swing back and forth like a pendulum on clock.

Latest NAM run...holy smokes, this will catch a ton of people by surprise if true.

Umm..am I reading that right? Three inches of snow in Tallahassee?

That would be crazy if that much snow came down in south Georgia. Holy crap!

We are getting a light snow out in the Southwood area, but nothing crazy.

Just walked the dog in Southwood. Our deck was frozen. Very light sleet, but no snow (that I could tell) yet. Fingers crossed it happens once the sun is all the way up.

Ice on my deck and falling at 8am. Snowing as I drove past Buck Lake Elem, but now just sleet falling

Had a few flurries around 8 this morning in the Hartsfield Road area...Enough where it's accumulated just a bit on surfaces.

Got heavy almost snow for three minutes. Huge flakes. Other than that was rain.

It's been snowing at my office for about 20 minutes now. It was sticking to the ice on the cars. It's pretty cool. Been since 89 since I've seen snow like this.

Light snow for a brief period, then it shifted to sleet/freezing rain....I heard that the Thomasville Road flyover was closed due to an accident, since bridges always ice up before the roads....I'll be heading into work late, just so that everybody else can slide off the road first...

Our company just sent out a notice about the potential effects Winter Storm Grayson may have on business.

Chimp or anyone else... doesn't look anything like Sandy, is it just a frigid snow storm that's forecast for the east coast?

It snowed my senior year, 73.
I was working weekends at the Frisch’s on Tennessee. On Saturday or Sunday it snowed while I was there. It seems like it was an inch or so, but I can’t remember now.

Weather is funny. Wife and daughter just face timed me and we have 2-3 inches in HHI; yet I am at Ft. Bragg and not a single flake of snow. Our dogs seemed to really love the snow.

Sandy was a hurricane that became extratropical as it made landfall. This is a Nor'easter that will bring high winds to southern new england with more than a foot of snow possible eastern Mass. and downeast Maine. It will look like a hurricane on the satellite imagery tomorrow east of the Mid Atlantic.

Spoke to soon. We have about 2 inches at Ft. Bragg now. Good thing I picked up the Yukon 4X4 for a rental.

Yesterday I talked with a couple from Wisconsin. They said they have always heard about how much colder the same temp felt here but had never seen it until yesterday. It was about 5pm in Chipley Fl and the temp was 30 with a very brisk wind. They said it was as bad as 0 degree weather in Wis.

It got up to 50 today, I have shorts on. But I remember the storm of 89, seemed like almost everyone I was in school with got sick from playing in the snow.

I think they are full of pookie.

Did they say when it snowed in 89? I never remembered it snowing while at FSU. If it was during Christmas break, I would have been out of town at that time.

Pretty sure it was Dec. 22-23, we had taken a family vacation up to North Carolina because we really wanted to see snow. Joke was on us.
