Here's the deal:

We go outside your favorite hospital and you lie on the pavement. I shoot you in the kneecap with a .22 caliber pistol then wheel you into the Emergency Room. You then get $10 million USD cash money, tax free.

Would you take that deal?

In the scenario you laid out, I'd let you shoot me twice in each kneecap for $10M.

Really?

It would hurt like a mofo. You could have a limp for life. Or die from shock. Or have recurring nightmares and pain forever.
You said .22 not 50 cal.

In a heartbeat..........and that's even if I already wasn't a cripple.

And where did you get that stat? You are wayyyyy off on that one.

No, I'm not. One artery feeds blood to your lower leg through the knee. That artery would be destroyed.

Add to the fact that joints are extremely difficult to repair in surgery.

And I got the 90% from my roommate, who is a surgeon.

Why would a surgeon need a roommate? You both med students or something?

Just curious.

Man, talk about buyer's remorse!

You guys would be all excited over that $10 mill but then you'd have some serious regret after your leg was missing for life.....

Not sure yet. I'm a first year student. Roommate's the resident

Ophthalmologist sounds like a good gig. I just saw mine last week. I don't see how it can be THAT difficult, but I am just assuming stuff. I don't know how big the risk of getting sued is for them.

My Uncle is a brain surgeon. I have no idea how someone can do that on a daily basis. Talk about the risk of screwing up, LOL.

Even if you added 'amputation' as apart of the deal, I'd still do it in a heartbeat and wouldn't think twice.

Nope. Even if I didn't think I would make that much on my own over the course of my life (and I'm sure I will), no permanent injury or even just the chance of it is worth any amount of money. I'd rather be a poor man with a healthy body than a rich man and be severely debilitated. I'm sure if you asked any of the crippled up ex-NFLers they'd tell you the same.

If you're healthy, you can always make more money. And even if you couldn't, I'd rather be a hipster beggar able to travel the world than a wealthy individual stuck at home. Life is for living not accumulation of money. If you can live and earn do that, if you can only do one then live.

Well, that's not true. Most crippled up ex-NFLers would play football again knowing the injuries and the result.
