NIL Negative Affect?

Rattler - OK
DJ - Clemson
Howard - UNC

almost like the madden curse. But are we seeing negative affects of maybe paying a kid and pressure here that then leads to negative results on the field??

it will be interesting to see what guys do well with this added pressure, but if you think about it; Why would Dr. pepper and everyone else hand out money to guys like did Brady get deals his first year playing football, hell no he was a proven commodity is what gets you paid..

If I was a sponsor I would instead hire the whole team for Alabama to do gigs for me so that way I am backing the whole brand and limit risk of a player playing poor vs a team playing poor which is less likely. Also this allows players to get paid more evenly and maybe even drive success as a team.. shocking incentivized winning..

From Canesports This Morning....

Here's just a sampling of Canesports threads.....don't be sipping coffee while reading these...

"Here's why I think we steal a victory from Bama"......

"My bet on UM to win the national championship is in".....

"Fair to say we are better at every position other than DE".....( My Personal Favorite )

Next Week Canesports will be an epic read after the beatdown Alabama is going to put on them.

Have a great Sunday my Seminole Brothers.

Where’s our Dareke Young - Lenoir Rhyne D2

Freak WR that all the NFL scouts are going to see each week and will be drafted high… there is talent out there and maybe even on our team.. do our coaches ever think maybe put a kid out there like Jordan Young with the lights on and throw the ball up to him.. I mean is it really not worth it. What’s the reward/risk analysis when your 0-4? That kid had an insane highlight tape and maybe just needs a break out moment like the kid for a D2 school got and now will play in the nfl.

I get it he doesn’t play to the standard, block, reset, react, listen blah blah blah.. skill positions can be divas and just flashes of brilliance. Give the kid a shot hell any kid.. where are the Jakhi Douglas deep routes that we are 1 for 1 so far this season? Something to try and spark a ball player for us!

idk it just looks like everyone is slower and trying to remember something or figure something out. Unleash some of these kids physical tools this weekend on Syracuse, tell them to stop thinking.

Can we have a good day tomorrow on...

Special teams?

We obviously have challenges on offense and defense. Just need more playmakers and depth.

But Norvell's special teams units were consistently ranked top 5 nationally at Memphis. I believe FSU is outside the top 80 currently. According to Norvell, elite play on special teams requires complete "buy in". This team, despite the 0-4 record, is fighting hard for 4 quarters so there is obviously a good bit of "buy in".

Let's return some d*mn kicks tomorrow. Let's pin Syracuse back in their own territory. Let's control the field position battle, make it a very long and tiring day for Syracuse. Ready to see it.

What can we do!?!

Ranting on a message board may make us feel better, but it ain't helping to solve the problem. Blaming the coaches, administration, players, former coaches, and ex-wives of former coaches may be good for chatter on a message board, but it ain't helping to solve the problem. Turning your back on the program may help your blood pressure, but it ain't helping to solve the problem. As fans of FSU, there are things we can do to help solve the problem.

The administration has a difficult job ahead with handling the finances of a faltering program. The coaches have a difficult job to figure out how to turn around morale, win games and recruit. The players have their job and position to focus on. We as fans have a job as well.

We need to support FSU, now more than ever. If you care about FSU football, which I assume you do otherwise you wouldn't be here, you need to support the team. Go to the games, if you can. Contribute to the Boosters, if you can. Increase your Booster membership, if you can. Donate to the FOF, if you can. Show the young men that chose to be here and dedicate themselves to FSU how much you support them.

Trust me, I have yelled and screamed and ranted and broken things because of FSU football. Not that this matters, but I graduated from FSU, my wife graduated from FSU, our first kid graduated from FSU and our second kid is a junior there right now. My point is, I have no choice but to support FSU. I take these losses personally, as I'm sure all of you do as well. It has ruined a lot of my Saturdays/weekends. I hate having friends ask me, 'hey, what's going on with FSU?' It's mainly why I come back to this message board...to commiserate with like-minded people.

We now need to dust ourselves off and get back up. Let's focus on our job and let the others (admin, coaches, players) focus on their job. Ask yourself these questions. What have I done lately to help solve the problem? How can I support FSU football? Is there anything else I could be doing?

Until my last dying breath...GO NOLES!!!

Sporting 'Noles: Assessing FSU-Syracuse from a Fantasy Perspective

Good morning all,

Went 2-0 last week (technically 3-0). Let's see if we can put together another winning week on the field and in the Over/Under game.

Spoiler: This one was not as easy to handicap.

Planning for Miami weekend - tickets

I grew up in Tally and went to every game from 1980 thru 1995 seasons. Moved to Utah in 1996. I hadn't been back to Tally for a game until the 2018 season visiting my mom (I took my son to the Wake and Clemson games that season).

I'm thinking of coming out again this season (I know - glutton for punishment, we're not much better than in 2018) to visit my mom and go the Miami game.

What is the best way to secure some tickets ahead of time?

No targeting for UM

Because the UM defender led with his shoulder and not the crown of his helmet.

I’m convinced we lost to JAX State because of the targeting call on the play our defense had the interception in the fourth quarter. We get that turnover I think we pull out the win and it doesn’t come down to that last crap defensive play.

Can’t believe these dudes still can’t not hit with their crown and not use their shoulders.

50 players

50 scholarship players have left this program since Norvell took the job in December 2019. That is a lot of turnover to say the least, albeit some of it was for different reasons. Some graduates, some early to the draft, some transfers, and some have been dismissed. My point is these players are just beginning to learn how to be a team. How to put it on the line for one another. I am by no means a patient person, and am spoiled as much as any other Nole fan who has been watching since 1978, but I do see growth. I see a small shift. I am truly disappointed in the way this season has started, especially the JSU loss, but I can't stop believing in where things are headed. I can't stop watching, trust me I've tried. I appreciate this forum and everyone on it. Hoping you all can keep the faith, I know I will. It's in my blood, and I'm too old to change. Go Noles!!!

Miracles - CFP Management Committee meets today

Buckle up. It's going to be a bumpy ride. The College Football Management Committee meets today with a lot of hurt feelings and distrust.

This is the prep meeting for an expected September 28 full meeting which could be scrapped if things fall apart today. At stake is the future of college football, not just the playoffs. If playoff expansion completely falls apart, the SEC and ESPN are prepared to go it alone and withdraw completely from the NCAA and form their own super-league after the NCAA convention.

Lots of fireworks are expected over the next week or two. ESPN has the playoffs locked up until 2025 and has no intention of losing its place as the leader in college football broadcasting. The Rose Bowl is being very stubborn and does not want to play ball with the CFP contract and playoff expansion. Who the B1G decides to align with will determine what ESPN and the SEC does next.

Prepare for chaos because it is unlikely all will agree to move forward together.

SIAP-Coastal Carolina Success

It's not just Coastal Carolina but to some degree Wake Forest, Fresno State, and others. They get no where near the "rated" players some of the historically successful schools (including FSU) get yet they have decent teams that can compete with FSU. Coastal Carolina, I dare say, has no four or five star recruits, even 3 stars. Check out this article on the Chanticleers.https://www.golongtd.com/p/rising-tide-how-coastal-carolina

Miracles - Buckle Up

Further separation of the Tier 1 teams is coming soon. FSU will soon have a decision to make to run with the big dogs or die with the dead weight of the ACC... Lots of big issues all coming to the forefront at the same time.

“We’re on the cusp of college football as a whole changing completely,” Rodgers said. “I think we thought that it was behind us, ‘Look Texas and Oklahoma are here, let’s all take a breath.’ No, no, no, it’s only going to get crazier.”

"Sometime in this school year, somewhere in the legal world or administrative level, a student-athlete will be declared an employee," Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick said recently

Essentially, college athletics on the players' side would become a market-drive economy. Taken to a not-so-far-off conclusion, recruiting could go away and be replaced by a draft or system where programs bid on the best players.
