With Clemson vulnerable and the rest of the ACC being a dumpster fire

what does it say about FSU that can not get on the W column? Seems like most every ACC team has gotten a Loss in those OOC games. The gap between the SEC and acc is wider than the grand canyon and growing. We are going to have to pony up the bucks for players. I dont think we can compete with SEC money that will get the best players now that its going to be wide open to pay these kids. The plus side is we can get the backups that want to play, so sloppy seconds for us

5 Questions for Norvell

  1. Many people have questioned the lack of any identifiable gameplan? Is the gameplan in flux throughout the game? What are the common themes does the offense try to stick to?
  2. In what situation would you fire a coordinator for on field performance during the season?
  3. There's been playcalls that many have said are flat out wrong and go against any logical football logic (prevent defense, running a non-mobile QB on 4th and 2 on a sweep). How are 99% of football fans wrong with their analysis?
  4. What on-the field signs do we have we are improving?
  5. How would you justify frankly any booster support with the worst team in 40 years?

I don’t know whether to be happy or sad

But I stopped watching the game after the first drive in the 2nd half and didn’t watch another snap of the game. I actually forgot it was on and for the first time in my life had to search around to see what the final score was. The weirdest part is is I didn’t have any type of feeling when I saw the score. So it’s a good thing that my night isn’t ruined but at the same time I feel weird that I have no feelings for something that I’ve been following for 27 of my 35 years of life.

This is a total trainwrek at an epic level.

This team and even worse program cant get out of its own way.
I was holding out hope on Norvell but, With what is transpiring this year with play calls, penalties, undisciplined play, coaching decisions I dont see him as the answer Recruiting will eventually take a dive due to all the above.I guess we will have to endure the pain until its next man up.
With 2 failed attempts at landing a big time coach with a succesful P5 resume thats probably not realistic moving forward.
That being said the Deion idea may be our last hope. It is a big risk I know but, he will put butts in seats and recruits on the team. Can only hope winning comes along with it.

I don’t want to

I don’t want to give up on this team and coach Norvell. I also don’t want to beat a dead horse but here we are. He 100% (due to our financial situation) should have next year. But dadgummit he is making it so hard. If he can somehow keep 75% of this recruiting class, I think we are headed in a great direction. I do want to see heads roll at the lower level meaning OC and DC and the waterfall below those positions. If we are looking at a buddy buddy situation where Mike can’t get out of his own way and fire them, well then we are in for a lot longer set back. We have the pieces in place and even more coming. If mike can’t assemble them, then dang it he better have coordinators that can. Please keep it civil, we are all hoping for brighter days. I’m just curious, from a logical amd not fired up standpoint, what others think.

Every coach who loses says

They’re just going to go back to work. It’s not just Norvell. Literally every losing coach says this. So, my question is:

SPECIFICALLY, what does a coach mean when they say that? Do they only mean that they are going to go back to business as usual? Running practices, breaking down film, etc.? Because that’s not what it sounds like, but I think that’s all it is. And if so, that’s stupid.

The work that Mike Norvell SHOULD be doing is working on some self reflection and figuring out WHY the things that he has been doing aren’t working. Not just doing the same things again and hoping that this time - THIS TIME - his messages will stick. His game plan will work. His practices will be effective.
