Tomahawks should hit the helmets

Now, especially after our first win, the tomahawks should hit the helmets. And some should go retro
for the first few games despite not winning them. Remember, players should get them for academics, too.
Travis, Corbin, Ward and Milton and TE deserve them for sure on the offensive side. Johnson, Thomas and Cooper for sure
on the defensive side. IMO, if a guy drops a touchdown pass and then catches one, that's a wash. Consistency and the possibility
of losing tomahawks make them more coveted.

Serious question

Does Dillingham ever call plays to set up another? Can someone please explain how we threw how many (?) bubble screens and flares yet never once pump faked and threw the deep ball to a wheel route? And one more question: do we ever adjust (audible) for what a defense presents? It appears Travis won this game with his legs, and not from strategic game planning. While it’s a win, I am not sure how any of this helps teach the rest of the team to win with whatever game plan was prepared...

Trying too hard to prove they are right…

All off-season and season we have been told Travis is an improved passer and therefore a more complete QB. Through almost 5 complete games this offense has consistently proven one thing, they can run block at an above average level. We have the talent in the backfield to line up and run constantly and we choose to throw more times than not. Stop trying to prove you can do something you can’t and instead stick to what you know…RUN THE BALL.

Ward as the "TB"

Thoughts on Ward in that other RB spot, or "TB" as the coaches have used earlier this year on the depth chart. This is normally Toafili's and Douglas's position.

From what I have noticed, this is a position occupied by a running back that is flexible on the field. This player lines up next to the QB, in the slot, H-back position, out wide, etc. This player usually gets more passes in space than hand offs in the back field. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I thought moving Ward to this position was a great move for a few reasons.
1. Gets both Corbin and Ward on the field at the same time.
2. Gets Ward in space
3. Ward is a better playmaker than Toafili at this point in time.

I understand that Ward only getting 2 hand offs today is not enough but he had 5 receptions. 7 is still not enough though. Hopefully, the coaches will keep this going forward but with more touches for Ward.

What are everyone's thoughts on this?

FSU ranked nationally #28 in rushing

Help me out here fellow Warchanters doesn’t it seem practical to just go with Jordan Travis going forward and be a rushing and short pass (dink and dunk) offense going forward?

We do not have a traditional drop back and hit a 12 yard post type of offense.

Milton doesn’t look particularly healthy physically or possibly mentally. We can’t assume he’s going to get over the mental anguish of a horrible injury and just be a drop back passer.

Also I feel we have 3 really GOOD rushers: Travis, Corbin and Ward. Ward is money, I really like his running ability. Corbin is both a short down and break away running back and has excellent hands. Jordan Travis is just a freak runner.

So just go full bore with a running attack to open up passing opportunities.

Clemson downfall - We should pay attention

Everyone always praised that all their dline and offense always came back every year and never left early.

Well here is the downfall of that… you don’t develop talent when they are busy sitting on the bench and then the others transfer out to get more playing time since they are recruiting elite talent..

I know we have always been bummed to have our guys leave early but it is also a balance you need of attrition in order to develop guys and also keep others invested and committed.

Clemson is like every prize fighter not named Mayweather and they simply didn’t play the long game early enough and before they know it they were getting knocked out and didn’t stay on top.

You could argue the coaches sticking around too start to get more ineffective over time it’s hard to duplicate what we did here 87-2000, sorry Clemson 🤣

Greatly disagree, JT could be an excellent college QB

JT has to play behind the worst pass blocking OL in P5. Gets zero time to find anybody. Dillinham is absolutely pathetic calling pass plays, passing sets. As said in earlier posts, even ACC broadcasters said as much. He needs to help JT out w screens , shuttle passes, draws. Our receivers perhaps could get some separation w more imaginative sets and the Ol giving our QB’s more than 2 seconds to find a receiver .

Let's talk UNC.....

Do we have any chance up there and to not get embarrassed? Sam Howell is a legit QB. I guess they are not as strong as predicted but still. I worry about ACC refs. In games like Syracuse, Louisville, etc., schools that joined the ACC after us, we seem not to get screwed but against Tobacco road, that is something else. Has there been a line set on the game yet?

Why the KR question, to me, is a big question.

There’s a lot that goes on in the game that I feel like may be correctable, but, I don’t know the whole story behind the thinking that went in to certain decisions and I’m not a coach. This issue on kickoffs where Douglas is pulling a Fred Astaire into our blockers arses to gain, at most, the 20 yard line, again and again, while refusing to fair catch is a question that concerns me on a universal level. If you, as a coach, see a problematic situation unfold not once, not twice, but numerous times and apparently refuse to make any change to fix it, what else is being treated that way? Its not the worst thing we do but it’s the most glaring and perplexing decision or lack of decision I see, game after game. Ultimately, it worries me that it may not be the only head scratcher where we could easily repair a problem but don’t…for whatever reason.

This game is proof

CMN is better than WT. A better hire from the start. Top to bottom, the program has improved overall. From culture, to the product on the field, it’s better. Still yet to be seen if he’s the long term answer, but I believe in him. WT’s players would’ve quit in this game, IF THEY WERE EVEN IN IT TO BEGIN WITH. This team doesn’t quit and cares about each other, and believes in CMN. I know this isn’t the popular opinion, but the truth rarely is.
