#100pagesnatty Thread 11/08/18 #63pagesnattynumber1 #106pagesnattynumber2

I've been questioning Jimbo's character in how this is playing out, but I guess it is possible that FSU asked him to stay for the ULM game and they're all keeping mum about it.

I agree with all of this. As of last week I still wanted us to do whatever it took to keep him here. But it's become clear that somewhere along this season he became disillusioned with being the head coach of FSU and has quit really giving it his all. Sure he has some legitimate complaints that our boosters aren't willing to put up the money to keep up in the arms races for coaches and facilities, but at the same time when you've allowed a terrible offensive line coach to remain on staff without any threat of his job for years, and the same for a defensive coach who you keep defending then you lose the high card there.

You do your job and hold your coaches accountable to the same level you do your players and let the cards fall where they may. If you become convinced that you can't work here any longer then at least be honest with the school and the players. The whole way he has handled this has made me very angry and even if he wanted to stay I don't think he can at this point. There are very few who want him back next year. I hope Texas A&M gives him some ridiculously long contract and he works them over every year while becoming a dumpster fire up against much better programs week in and week out.

UT fired their AD. What a mess.

No matter how this goes, surely we can't screw this up as much as UT! Right?

If he is out there trying to get the aTm contract, then I'd say let him go, don't coach the game. I do want to win and get to the bowl though, so whatever gives FSU that shot it priority over spurning Jimbo. If he goes to aTm, he will find out what many people already know, that grass is definitely not greener.

I really don't care if he wanted to leave. Coaches leave programs all the time. Its all in the way it gets handled. It seems he hasn't fallen far from the Saban tree on seamless departures. Even if he stays, his support is gone.

The contract governs everything. I haven't read it, only seen what was reported in the press. The press simplifies things and says things like he is guaranteed $40mil if fired or he owes $10mil if he quits. The actual contract is more complicated and many provisions open to interpretation. Jimbo likely will try to be paid arguing he is owed money because he is being forced out. FSU likely will try to get paid because Jimbo "quit". There could be a provision that he is paid more or his buyout is lower if he finishes the season. All of this is speculation and even with the actual contract, it will be open to interpretation, which results in either a negotiated settlement or litigation.

Lawyers and agents will get paid. It might be ugly for everyone else.
Here you go.
You can read his contract online here:

Look at Section II.C. He is responsible for reimbursing FSU for any buyout it pays to a current assistant coach that is terminated without cause following his departure.

I'm really disappointed with the coverage we're getting. I want a camera crew at the airport. I want to know what everybody is wearing when they get on the plane...hoping for cowboy hats and spurs. I want to know if Fisher shaves for this trip. I want someone to ask Fisher if he knows where the Dixie Chicken is.

Just read on Twitter that Fulmer is sabotaging the coaching search in an attempt to become the AD. It's Twitter so take it for what it's worth.

Amazing how twitter can figure this out and yet the entire ut staff that works with Fulmer is oblivious to his evil plot.... lol.

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who saw Jimbo pass-out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

That’s what they’re saying on ESPNU radio. Just listened to Andy Staples go on and on about how Fulmer is sabotaging the entire process.

Look at section II.C. If he has negotiated with TAMU for employment, the contract can be terminated and we don’t owe him anything. He will owe for any Asst Coach payouts. He will get a 50k bonus if we make a bowl.

Thanks.

So the good news is that we can immediately terminate his contract for cause for entering negotiations with aTm if he or they end up backing out. That means we wouldn’t be on the hood for the $40 million buyout but can still fire him.

Jinx.

So according to ESPNU radio and some less reputable sports blogs our players are throwing a hissy fit saying they are refusing to play if Jimbo coaches on Sat. Apparently the team meeting on Thursday was mainly awkward silences and some angry responses from players.

As far as these rumours about the player revolt goes...I don’t necessarily believe it. I’m taking it with a grain of salt but I’d say it’s 50-50 whether it’s true or not.

Surely somebody in Tallahassee has a camera, and surely they're hiding in the shrubbery at Million Air.

Word on the street is Jimbo turned in his resignation to Thrasher. He’s on that plane. Jimbo out.

Yep, Andy Staples just said he was texted a pic of Christmas trees and ornaments in the street for garbage pickup today at Jimbo’s house. So definitely gone.

I was thinking of heading out there but had too much work to do. There’s no security or anything to stop you at Million Air, you just walk right in.

Stupid boss (ie me) not letting me take off time to go give Jimbo the double finger salute as he takes off for aTm.
