#100pagesnatty Thread 11/08/18 #63pagesnattynumber1 #106pagesnattynumber2

Good thing you couldn't short bitcoin, eh?

Plenty of profits to be made in the short term for all of these tulip schemes especially when they’re hooked up to black market sales. Sooner or later the bubble will pop and someone is left holding on to some useless flowers.

Interesting news that aTm is going to pay Dave Aranda $3mil a year to be their new DC with an alleged offer to pay whatever his handpicked assistants want.

Apparently, still not enough to work with Jimbolt.

Thats awesome

If true. I’ve seen reports it’s not over. Allegedly LSU promised 2.7 mil plus total control of the defense to Aggies 3 plus total control. I could see him staying for only a 300k difference but hey! Why not have the aTm recounter with 3.5 mil. What’s another half mil a year for a Natty in a couple of years ? (not saying I believe that, just what the Aggie boosters are probably thinking now)

Remember the Camaro that A&M gave Eric Dickerson, then Dickerson had to give it back because SMU gave him more?

A&M still thinks that they are in the old Southwestern Conference and they'll get nailed at some point.

Also in other bad news, Izzo declared early for some reason. I don’t think he’s going as high as he thinks and could have worked his way into a 1st round position with an OC who actually cared what happens.

I wonder if Izzo bothered to let Mavin Saunders know he was planning on leaving. Would have been nice! Perhaps Saunders wouldn't have transferred. Now we're depleted at TE.

I wonder how much a tight end is utilized in Taggart's offense.
True. This is certainly a brave new world that we're entering.

Just did some quick research: This season Oregon's TE Jacob Breeland caught 18 passes for a 17.8-yard avg. with 5 TD.

Did a little more research just for kicks. In '16 USF's then-freshman TE Mitchell Wilcox averaged 23.2 yards on 12 receptions with 2 TD. From what I gather just from the statistics, it seems Taggert's offenses include a decent number of big play opportunities for his TE's.

Funny I was just wondering the same thing. I really think a TE is so underused by so many teams. Well except teams that play us as I seem to recall TEs having big games against us on a regular basis.

That's because the LB's and safeties aren't taught properly. Teams were running slants on us the last 4 games because LB's were nowhere to be found in coverage.

Mitchell Henry was an accomplished TE at WKU (78 career receptions with 12 TD) before a brief NFL career. Henry was recruited by Taggart and played for him as freshman and sophomore.

I wonder if the tight end is that in name only and is split off the line. Izzo is a good interior blocker with decent to good hands but little speed.

I wonder if all the money being thrown around makes it easier to get a guy like Ansley rather than a guy like Barnett. Sure you want the best guy but trying to steal a guy who can get a counter offer close to FSUs and is a MSU alumn is going to be harder than getting a position coach who is qualified and looking for his shot.

I was also thinking maybe someone out of the FBS now (like a Mike London), a young up-and-coming NFL position coach (Joe Danna, Jags' asst. DB's, e.g.) or a strong current FCS D-coordinator like this guy:

Just saying there's a lot of potentially strong hires that wouldn't break the bank if one just looks for them.

Sorry...I'll add another post to this thread by correcting myself about London: He's actually the current HC at Howard.

All the way back to the Mickey Andrews days. FSU made a lot of Miami TEs a bunch of money in the NFL.

I had to like this post since there is no "I agree" button as I don't actually LIKE the post. Miami KILLED us for years because FSU had no clue how to defend a TE. However, to be fair, they did have some studs at the position. "I'm a soldier!"

Shockey, Olsen and Winslow were all great TEs that have made a lot of defenses look bad.

Yep, and all drafted high, 1st round after I checked. And add Bubba Franks (1st rd 2000) and Jimmy Graham (3rd rd 2010).

So it makes one feel a LITTLE better; we got busted up by future pros.
