When they interviewed jf during the game he sounded like he always has; except after everything played out it sounded like complete bs. I guess he needed a change and the money speaks for itself. I just don't see him doing much at t a&m. Yes he can recruit and coach; but they have had plenty of good coaches. Great coaches don't go 5-6 with the talent he had at FSU; don't care what happens with injuries etc. FSU was better than 85% of the teams we played this year by just showing up and it was clear jf didn't have the ability to make changes when he needed to.
I think inflexibility was definitely an issue. Every casual fan watching could say we need quicker developing plays, speed up the pace, etc, but he didn't seem to want to change. Contrast that with WT, who as we know came up with his present scheme out of necessity based on the players he had....

Interesting. We have been talking about the salary for Jimbo. There is talk that if the Raiders bring back Gruden, they might offer him some ownership component as past of his contract. And they'd also backload the contract so that once they move to Vegas, his higher salary has tax benefits. Ownership opens a whole new chapter for contracts.
A piece of the team would have to be approved by 75% of the other owners. I don't see that happening.
So we’ll see if Ron Dugans, Greg Frey and Jim Leonhard are all announced as FSU coaches today or tomorrow as the scuttlebutt says.

So we’ll see if we end up with Dugans and Leonhard after all. Dugans seems like an open and shut case.....a “no brainer”...but apparently his wife is refusing to move from “the glamor” or Miami. So that may be getting scuttled. And now it’s looking more and more like Leonhard just wanted a pay raise and we’re on to options 4, 5 and 6 (Diaz at Miami, TRob at USC(e) and Barnett at Michigan State).

And now a reporter for another site claims we aren’t likely to get Terrell Buckley another “no brainer” that should be on the staff. I’m not sure I get why the defensive coaches have been such a pain to bring in. I get that he probably wants the DC to have some say, but it’s taking forever to get the DC and we’re potentially missing out on a great hire at DB coach.
Also in other bad news, Izzo declared early for some reason. I don’t think he’s going as high as he thinks and could have worked his way into a 1st round position with an OC who actually cared what happens.

This is to some extent where we will see who has the correct sources. Warchant apparently is reporting that Dugans is walking, others have leaked that Dugans is on campus speaking with Taggart more or less as we speak.
So we’ll see whose sources are correct. My sources tell me that I should get a Jimmy Johns sammy for lunch and not worry about it.
Interesting news that aTm is going to pay Dave Aranda $3mil a year to be their new DC with an alleged offer to pay whatever his handpicked assistants want.
It might impact what we’re going to have to pay out. No more lowball $1 mil offers when people like Leavitt are getting $2.3 mil and actually good DCs like Aranda are pulling down $3 mil.
Why not Jeff Bowden at DC?
